Cask at GBBF, 2012. Reddish brown pour with a beige head. Orchard fruit aroma with a hint of caramel. Malty lick on the palate, crisp apple feel with a splash of pear. Bitter fruit finish. Not bad.

Never heard of this until I moved to Kent. Very smooth beer. With a light smokey chocolate flavour. The brewery does a nice range of boxes of this tipple for parties. Great value.

Bottle Conditioned . Pours a black colour with a tan head that soon goes, malt and cofffee in the aroma, the taste is soft with light roasted malt and a hint of coffee with a dry finish.

(Bottled)It looks like foreboding dark beer in a duvel tulip...impressive beige clumpy head ; Im getting lots of milk chocolate in this one , decent amount of roasted coffee like bitterness .Suggestions of dark berries too. A bit thin of the finish , as if decent textures just go no where too fast .

Cask-conditioned at the Kent Beeriodical, the Seven Stars Bristol February 2012. Near black with a decent, off-white head. Sweet, milk chocolate, berry fruit and liquorice aroma. Flavours of milky coffee, prunes and more chocolate, with some sweetness in the finish. Too sweet for me.

Draught at Seven Stars, Bristol during their Kent ale festival. Very sweet, caramel and chocolate flavours. My favourite of the 4 I tried on the night!
