[GBBF 2016, Olympia] - Old Dairy Snow Top, 6%, dunkelbraun mit rötlichem Reflexen, noch eben transparent. Etwas größere, beige luftige Krone. Kräftiges Aroma nach Milchschokolade und weihnachtlichen Gewürzen. Schwer, deutlich ölig in der Textur. Im Antrunk dunkle Früchte, Pflaumen, Gewürze, etwas Kakao mit eine leichten floralen Hintergrund. Zur Mitte werden die Gewürze stärker, Pflaumen im Hintergrund. Abgang ebenso, Nachhall deutlich winterliche Gewürze und Marmelade. Leckerer Speciality Porter.

Cask at GBBF Saturday, 13/08/2016. A nut brown coloured pour with reddy hues and fading beige head. Aroma is tangy grapey fruit, green apple, berry cakey, toffee. Flavour is composed sweet and cakey, toffee, green apple, dried fruits, vanilla. Palate is sweet and chewy moderate carbonation. Maybe closer to an old ale.

Cask @ GBBF 2016. Dark amber with a small off white head. Fruity and malty tones. Fruit, malt, caramel and hops. Medium body with a nice bitter/ fruity finish.

Impressive dark winter ale - a full flavoured beer punched full of hops and smooth malt flavours. wonderful rich aroma. Truly impressive beer and one of my favourites.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’15, 04/12/15. Mahogany brown with a decent beige head that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is marzipan, fruit cake, biscuit crumble, toffee, light spice. Taste comprises dark fruits, candy bar, light spice, toffee, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stuff.

Cask at the WHOAF - London. Pours clear copper with a bubbly head. Leathery fruits on the nose, faint toffee, earth. Medium sweet flavor with dried berries, lightly toasted bread, some grains, raspberry, earth. Medium bodied, lightly chewy, with soft carbonation. Very lightly warming to finish, moderately sweet, overriding leathery fruits. Not bad.

Cask at the 32nd WHOAF. It pours clear deep brown with a small tan head. The nose is earth, leather, wood, twig, dried leaves, spice, crystalised sugar, raisin and candied peel. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, dried fruits, raisin, citrus peel, wood, leather, date, dried fruit, brown sugar and varnish with a dry finish. Medium-full body and fine carbonation. Like a light barley wine. Pretty nice.

Cask conditioned handpump Wig & Pen Northampton 23/01/14. A dark ruby coloured beer with an off-white head and lace. Fruity and chocolatey. Lovely Wintery flavours. Hints of spice. A nice body and an easy drinker. Dusty chocolate. Good stuff.
