Bottle from The Good Shed, Canterbury. Hazy deep amber with lasting beige head. Some brett and putty on the aroma. Better in mouth, lots of toffee and good dry brett biscuit character. Lovely in fact as it goes down. Opens up with some more fruit as it goes on. Some hop on the finish. Putty brett biscuit toffee. Characterful and interesting. Some tangerine whisky character

Bottle. Pours hazy dark orange with a small to medium off-white head. Aroma is sweet with toffee, raisins, malts, a little bit of funk and some alcohol. Taste is also sweet with lots of raisins, caramel, dark fruits and warm alcohol finish. Medium bodied with a soft carbo. Not sure about the aroma, but the taste is quite good.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear orange-amber colour, thin white head. Aroma is very sweet, raisins, madeira wine, malts, apricots. Flavour is quite different, sweet at first, raisins/madeira, then followed by something salty, filter-cigarette tobacco, tiny hint of tartness, but it has more of a salty sensation, firm dry sherry and wood bitter finish. Lots of wood. Medium-bodied, slightly alcoholic, little carbonation. Don’t know what to make of this, I didn’t really like it, but kept drinking it.

(Cask at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 24 July 2013) Hazy reddish amber colour with no head. Quite flat. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, dry sherry and matured cheese. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, raisins, sherry, Madeira and funky, wild yeast in a dry and vinous finish with a certain spicy bitterness. Full body, with a touch of alcohol sweetness. A bit weird, but quite nice when you get used to it.

On tap, well on cask rather at In De Wildeman. Deflated rating because of the ugly appearance . Liqourice, other interesting flavors. Decent cask ale.
