Sigmund (5325) - Tau, NORWAY - OCT 18, 2014
Shared 750 ml corked and caged bottle at local tasting, from the museum shop at Koldinghus castle. Deep amber colour, white head. Nice aroma of honey, sweet malts and mild spices. Sweet flavour, loads of honey, malts and spices. This is, after all, a beer with mead added - not a mead with beer added.

0,75 l bottle at RBHD-gathering, Tau, Oct-2014. Deep clear copper colored body with a small off-white head. Fusel and honey dominate the nose. Honey dominates the mouth, which is very sweet. Full bodied and smooth. Quite drinkable.

Pale copper. Off-white head. Aroma of honey, with a hint of herbs. Also sweet caramel. Similarly sweet and fruity taste. Well-balanced.

Bottle at home this is something you’d rather share than drink whole thing but alas I took on challenge. Pours caramel with sweet honey and ginger on nose. Tastes of honey, toffee, orange peel, spicy ginger, lime, and raisins. Slightly Cloying and odd palate. finishes like orange soda

ClubGonzo (4238) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 5, 2014
Bottle from duty free shop @ Billund Airport. Pours a deep hazy bronze-hued amber body with a medium off-white head. Nose is caramel, grains, raisins and hints of honey and Norwegian brown cheese. Taste is caramel, raisins, toffee, honey and hints of brown cheese and candi sugar. Full body, medium carbonation. A pleasant "dark strong Belgian meets mead"-kinda braggot, though it feels a bit too unbalanced in sweetness to make it to the top notches. Quite nice though.

Drake (9005) - Free Union, Virginia, USA - SEP 12, 2013
C&C 750 mL bottle with quite a bit of age on it. Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin fizzy white head that quickly fades. Aroma of toffee, caramel, port, honey, dates, mild citrus notes. The taste is honey, toffee, dark fruits, sherry, booze. Medium bodied, decent balance, lingering heat. Nice sipper and it has borne its age well.

This is something and it’s definitely something everyone should try. It’s an enormous, sweet ginger beer, slightly hot and good for slow sipping. It pours a fiery amber color w/ a small head. The nose is a big whalop of piney, earthy ginger--which is an aroma I personally love. It’s really a bit oversweet though and so is really a good choice for sharing w/ a friend. Really, this is pretty much dominated by sweetness and ginger but it’s still quite tasty.
