3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Frank (2188) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 18, 2012
This is something and it’s definitely something everyone should try. It’s an enormous, sweet ginger beer, slightly hot and good for slow sipping. It pours a fiery amber color w/ a small head. The nose is a big whalop of piney, earthy ginger--which is an aroma I personally love. It’s really a bit oversweet though and so is really a good choice for sharing w/ a friend. Really, this is pretty much dominated by sweetness and ginger but it’s still quite tasty.

Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a murky dark brown color with a large creamy tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was pure cola and nothing else. The flavor was sweetish cola with undertones of molasses, vague spices and dark fruits followed by more cola. The finish was long cola. Medium body. Eh.
