Tap at Old Forge with the Campground brewdown gang - Great nose of maple syrup and oak. Taste is a bit of a let down, dark chocolate, prune some chocolate and sweet caramel, but lacking complexity.

2012-08-18. Black body with a modest smooth tan head. 4+ relatively mild flavour, quite sweet, dark malt vanilla, mild bourbon, muted roast. 7+ Aroma is similar, quite sweet, vanilla bourbon, mild dry dusty roast. Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate. Decent, but a touch one dimensional - needs the base beer to support the bourbon a bit more. On tap, Old Forge brewpub

On tap at Old Forge after a day at Knoebel’s during the Campground Brewdown. Pours a dark black to brown with a thin to medium sized tan head. Soft bourbon, toast, roast on the nose. Gentle cocoa, soft roast and toast. Sweet cocoa, malt and roast. Cocoa, light bit of wood and sweetness. Toast, nice and easy drinking. Rather subtle.

Draft at the Old Forge with the RB crew. Pours a deep brownish black body with light chocolate tan lacing. Aroma is bitter chocoalte, malts and a light roastiness. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with notes of earthy chocolate, light burnt wood, and finishes somewhat bitter. You don’t really get any bourbon aging in the aroma or flavor.

Tap at the brewpub with the RB crew. Medium, tan foam. Poured a deeper, clear cola. Nondescript nose- small chocolate and roast. Taste is very thin, soil heavy, lightly bitter. Powdery/chalky mouthfeel. Some dry cocoa powder. Didn’t pick up any barrel/bourbon flavors.
