3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2012-08-18. Black body with a small tan head. 3+ Lightly roasty character throughout, fruity, bitter, muted sweet malt middle, dry bitter roasty finish. 7+ Dry roasty malt in the aroma. 7+ Medium bodied palate. 3+ Simple solid stout, with decent amount of bitterness but I attributed it more to roast malt than hops... not nearly enough hops to call this a black IPA in my opinion. On tap, Old Forge brewpub

Taste is sharp, denser, richer with big soil/dirt. Watery palate. Bitter and heavy nut skin tannins in the finish. Oversteeped grain character common to all of the beers on tap.
