A full-bodied copper colored pale ale prepared with magnificent flavors of American hops and balanced by using carmelized malts with hints of smooth fruit flavors from yeast. A nose of a fresh hops without the bitterness.

Aroma – You get a nice mix of earthy hops with some toasty malts. The hop aroma is not as strong as I would like for an “American Pale Ale”. Appearance – Deep amber, more on the darker side of most APAs and closer to English Pale Ales. I find that this usually means less body and less hop flavor, but that is not the case with this beer. Taste – It’s pretty strong on the toasty malt side and has just a bit of caramel flavor. It is not sweet at all, earthiness of the hops kills off most of the sweetness provided by the caramel malts, but overall the taste is quite balanced. Yeast seems to be standard American ale yeast. A few times I had this I noticed a soapy off flavor, this may be indicative of problems in fermentation, but this is most likely rare and has happened in just a few batches. Mouthfeel – Usually it’s medium. The carbonation level is mild also, which works well for the more earthy hops and the malt build. Overall Impression – Although this beer is not as refreshing and citrusy as I would expect for an APA, it is still pretty good. It is like an APA with slight English characteristics. As with most beers from Old Harbor, these are not the best craft beers you will ever have but it is good starting point for non-craft beer drinkers. They are not over the top but they are also not lacking in malt and hop flavor. It’s pretty much balanced beer but on the lighter side.

In short: An amateurish golden ale that marred by an old past due-date orange juice flavor..
How: Tap at brewpub.
The look: Clear golden blond body topped by a persistent small white head.
In long: Nose has a discreet fruitiness that feels more like yeasty fruity esters than fruity hops. Taste is tangerines, orange flesh, corn-ish cereals, a bit of caramel, shy hopping with a light spiciness . Just like with their Coqui Lager this so-called Pale Ale had way too much of an old past due-date orange juice flavor with the awkward acidity. Light body and with a soda-pop carbonation. Another lame beer from Old Harbor. Not only is it lame but I’m not even sure this could qualify has an Pale Ale even if it wasn’t problematic. The more I was drinking the creations of the Old Harbor brewer I found myself less and less impress by Bin Laden’s accomplishments.

Bottle shared by Jared, muddy golden color with s bit of head. Has some citrus with some skunky aroma. Taste is similar, a bit bland and quite bubbly on the tongue. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The palate is very light here. Hops just plain bitterness with prominent barley malt they seem to use for several beers here. Pours golden with average carbonation, medium consistency. On tap at brewpub.

Draft with Erica at the airport in San Juan. This was very nondescript and I don’t have a lot of notes aside from that it was okay and "kind of boozy." I did record my ratings for each category, though.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark copper body with a small fizzy off-white head that fell to a thin partial covering. The nose is minimally hoppy with some husky malt and a little caramel. The flavor is a little lacking in the hops department as well. Not overly sweet, but rather husky and grainy with a bit of crystal malt on the finish. Minimal bitterness on the finish. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Not the worst of the bunch from Old Harbor, but not the best either.
