On tap at the brewpub in San Juan as part of a flight. Black pour. Strange sweet roasty aroma. Taste is on the smokey side, which was unexpected. Not terrible, but I wouldn’t get it again.

Tap @brewpub. Opaque black color, small beige head, lace. Coffeish and milky aroma. Medium-bodied. Coffee and lactose in the flavor. Soft palate, very smooth. Ok ""milk stout"", but lacks depth and substance.

Where and how: bottle 750? ml at tasting
Aroma felt a bit off. Notes of coffee , dark malts with barrel treatment like elements. Over all a bit clunky and heavy.
Top: lighter, fine beige cap.
Base: clear, dark brown.
Palate : mellow, mid bodied.
Taste: nice chocolate elements, mild roast with coffee darkness. Pleasant with its creamy texture.

Thick looking pour. Neutral slightly roasted aroma. Smooth mouthfeel but slightly astringent finish.

Gift brought back by Elana from Puerto Rico. Pours a deep black color with no head at first with then settles thin tan on the top. Rich fruity crisp stout. Not bad

0.65 l bottle at Timo A’s. Black color. Sweet, roasty, acidic and coffeish aroma with cola and leather. Much dryer taste with coffee, licorice, phenols, cocoa and gooseberries. Taste of barnayardy phenols and overripe berries, brettanomyces perhaps. Weird and controversial mix of flavors.

Pours ruby red color with a small head. Sweetish fruity aroma, some berries, faint earthy notes, barnyard notes also. Some yeast and spices also. Sweetish start on the flavor, berries and caramel, malts and some sourish, funky fruity flavor on the finish, distant coffee too. A bit weird, might be a bit infected, not undrinkable though. Interesting anyway.

Roasty aroma. Lighter colored stout, more of a deep brown. Didn't think it would have a stout-like palate but it was wonderfully smooth and roasty. Nicely done.

Aroma – Roasty with just the right amount of burnt. I usually notice the burnt with coffee stouts, so it’s strange why I would notice that in this simple and plain stout.
Appearance – Black, if served in glass you might see very dark amber to brown light filtering though the sides. It falls right in to style for a 6% abv standard stout.
Taste – What I enjoy most about this stout is the nice darkly toasted malt flavor which just barley makes it through the roasted malts. I come to learn that this taste is usually attributed to Munich Malt. Since I live in Puerto Rico, almost every stout and porter I’ve tasted comes from US and the UK. I do not know how travel and transportation to our island affects dark beers in any way but I seem to enjoy Kofresi over other simple stouts imported from the US. Perhaps it is due to the oxidation, but I find that on most imported stouts and porters the malty flavors die off and all you get is a blast of oxidized roast. Kofresi and other local stouts and porters (both on the commercial and homebrew level) seem to keep intact that Munich-like malt flavor. This is not the case however with Imperial Stouts (probably due to the high alcohol level).
Mouthfeel – Medium, this is not a big bold stout therefore the medium mouthfeel is appropriate. I would like to see more head upon pouring it to a glass.
Overall Impression – No off flavors, it’s pretty much nice light stout. Not big, bold or offensive. A nice introduction to the world of dark roasty beers. As with most beers from Old Harbor, these are not the best craft beers you will ever have but it is good starting point for non-craft beer drinkers. They are not over the top but they are also not lacking in malt and hop flavor. It’s pretty much balanced beer but on the lighter side.
