COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep gold in color, our pilsner is a Bohemian pleasure. Brewed with the finest European pale and Munich malts, it has a medium body and smooth malt flavor. It is served unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Often attempted, but rarely perfected, this pils reaches a level of drinkable perfection. Santo Viejo pairs well with sausage, pizza, shellfish and poultry. Winner of USBTC’s best Pilsner of the South 2008.

Wasn’t much going on with this one. No aroma. OKish color and a light body, weak, bitter taste.

Pint on tap at Caribe Hilton. Golden with a lasting ring of creamy bubbles. Nose is sweet corn and dry grass. Tastes of caramel, dry grass and a hint of corn and lemon. Medium body has low carbonation, is well balanced and finishes crisp.

I preferred Coqui. Low carbonation, slight cereal with some mash malt. Finishes a bit sour with small bitter note. Sticky consistency stays on tongue. Low carbonation. Tap at brewpub.

Tap, brewpub. Pours a clear straw yellow body with a minimal white head that fell to a thin ring. The hops on the nose is pretty light, a little grassy with some crockery malt. The flavor is a little off, not very crisp or clean, seemingly not well lagered. A lot of off notes on the finish especially. Very minimal bitterness throughout. Not sure that I can be convinced that they are all malt here. Light bodied and fizzy with a short finish.

Draft: Poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma was light grain. The taste was soft grain very thin and watery.

Draft @ brewpub. Gold. Nose is grassy hops and seems more full-bodied than the later already with deeper malt and higher IBU. Delicious lingering bitterness. Impressive and sessionable.

On Tap at brewery. Pale yellow, decent head. Floral aroma. A bit too sweet, with a cream corn component I didn’t care for.

Sampler. Not bad. Refreshing taste, slight hoppy. Golden color with nice head and lace. Slight fruity aroma with hints of hay.
