Commercial Description:
Brewed in the tradition of the finest English Pale Ales, Extra Special Bitter is a delight to ale connoisseurs. Fuggles hops provide this ale with noticeable hop bitterness. Be sure to enjoy ESB with fish dishes and lighter meals.

650 ml bomber, labeled "Elora Special Bitter" - poured a clear reddish copper with a short-lived fizzy off-white head. Surprisingly hoppy aroma - some piney/citrusy quality along with a pleasant earthiness. Flavour follows the same course, but the letdown is in the rather thin malting. Slightly watery mouthfeel. As it warms, it becomes hugely mineraly, and all fruitiness is lost, much like I imagine drinking liquid limestone would taste. Not entirely pleasant. Still, one of the better offerings I’ve tried from this rather volatile brewer.

650ml bottle: Murky red colour with fine beige head. Fruit tart and hops in the nose. More fruit and spice in the taste...week malt character. Thick palate with bitter end. Stylistically enigmatic.

Bottle: Poured a light hazy brown color ale with a small bubbly head with no retention and no lacing. Aroma of dry lightly bitter English hops is the only discernable characteristic. Taste is also dominated by light English dry hops with no discernable malt profile. It might be due to low carbonation but this beer appears to be stale. This was definitely not true to the style or anywhere close to being interesting.

uh oh...........trafalgar beer. Well i come in expecting the worse. Nice amber pour, a good looking ESB pour. A nice nose of english hops, and a touch of malt. Hmm, wow, this doesnt taste like pond water! This is actually a decent beer, some nice hopping, but i would prefer more malt. tasty beer, but i would consider it a well hopped golden ale than an ESB.

Was very surprised when I drank this beer, very pleased. Pours a red orange colour with no head. Aroma is very sweet, big notes of toffee and dried fruit. The flavour is perfectly hoppy, buttery, a little bit of citrus, the finish is a tad soapy though. All and all a pretty friggin good beer for a decent price and from a local brewery. CHEERS!
