gilvanblight (390), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Sep 18, 2007 Extremely clear pour. Had to try to get a head but when I did it was nice and frothy. Very weak scent. Barely discernable in a smoke free home. A bit of hops and grass, maybe. Suprisingly nice warm taste. A lot more palate then I expected from the scent. A somewhat bitter hoppy aftertaste that I’m not a big fan of. The taste has a bit of fruit, hops, grass, wheat and a touch of honey. Definately not the best beer I have had, but amazingly good for a light beer. A depth of character that suprised me. Maybe not my highest rate, but my highest rated light beer. sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 22, 2007 650mL bottle. Pours a nice cloudy light straw with quite a bit of head. Aroma is tart. The initial taste is rather tart - almost metallic in nature. In the end, it settles down to being quite lemony. The taste stays relatively sour throughout. The aftertaste is not particularly pleasing. This isn’t really my cup of tea, errrrrrr, beer, but at least it wasn’t the bland lager I was fearing it might be.
OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Aug 22, 2007 650 ml bottle, date stamped Sept. 07. Hazy golden yellow colour with a fully lasting creamy and frothy white head. Biscuit and banana aroma with lemon notes. Fruity, lightly acidic lemony flavours. Light bodied, soft mouthfeel. It actually wasn’t so bad, but definitely gone off despite being less than a week out of the store. Viper666 (614), Greenfield Park, Quebec, Canada Aug 19, 2007 Bouteille 650ml (LCBO). Boutip (2334), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Aug 16, 2007 Bottle: Poured a pale amber color beer with a medium bubbly head with some average retention. Aroma of unrefined grain is more or less pleasant. Taste is also dominated by some unrefined grain and medium sweetness. There is also a weird metallic taste which might be due to oxidation. It is too bad this beer wasn’t better because weather was perfect too enjoy such a beer. TheJester (694), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 14, 2007 650 mL bottle. Pale yellow gold with a small head that recedes to a thin film almost immediately. Aroma is very grassy/malty, and there is also a bit of sweet citrus in there. Sweet, but more fruity sweet than malty sweet. Taste is quite fruity for a pale lager. Finish is as much malt as it is hops, although the hops are there. Not crisp enough. Or something. Different. Undecided. mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 30, 2007 [440-20070726] Sample @ LCBO-Summerhill. Toasted bread and grain aroma with some mango or apricot fruit notes. Clear, yellow orange body with a quick foamy white head. Medium body. Refreshing, as it seems fresh. rederic (1787), montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 24, 2007 Slight cloudy blonde hue, with a small white head, leaving laces, yeasty fruity nose, with a winey note, wet hay, sweet honeyed pale malt, with a candied grapefruit peel aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, acidic character, with a winey accent, a floral hop citrusy note, with a lemon, grapefruit fruitiness, a mild honeyed pale malt touch, leading towards a citrus hop bitterness finish.
