Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - amber with some head. Nose - stewed apple, maybe some malt and butter. Taste - malt and butter, not much fruit. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry finish which isnít necessarily that pleasant. Overall - a bit hum drum!

On cask at Lord Nelson, Brigg, Lincolnshire - Rich ruby clear body, thick white head, rather pretty beer. Nose is bitter ripe fruit, lots of bitterness throughout and not always pleasant. Not sure if this was in bad condition or what, it wasnít that good.

First tasted this in the Water Rat, Ripon in April 1991. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear amber red in colour with a thin white head. A short note of sweet caramel in the brief aroma. Thin watery mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a weak digestive biscuit base with sweet toffee and barley sugar notes. Strong metallic hop resins impart a dry dusty aftertaste. Finish is slightly malty but not by much. An ok session bitter.
