Radek Kliber (3278), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 19, 2008 Can 355ml
Appearance: Quiet pale in color yet with large frothy top, fractional lace sided on glass. Nose :Light , gentle sweetness of pale malt and gentle mineral hops. Thin sweetness ended. Flavor/Palate : Smooth , soft bodied non-alcoholic brew. Very light hints of malt with watery finish. Solid for non-alcoholic just overly thin even for such style. Who knew?
bhensonb (2735), Woodland, California, USA Jul 19, 2008 Can. Light brassy gold color with very minimal head. Smells like grain with a touch of honey. Sort of medium body with really fizzy carbonation. Flavor is mostly grain; I’m not getting any level of bitter. HogTownHarry (3141), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Apr 27, 2008 Can (12oz). Fidy cents from the Consumers Beverages "bargain" bin. Clear, pale gold, flat-looking and a tiny fizzy bright white head (2-). Bleh - smells like icing sugar and near-honey and weirdly like fake licorice wrapped in wet paper pulp. Tastes like .... damn! .... Wonder Bread toast soaked in apple jack, then watered down to near obscurity and stored too long in a dirty paper sack. Thin, slick, mostly flat mouthfeel (not all that revolting, actually) - slightly harsh in the finish after the weird sweetness fades (2+). Not anger-inducingly horrid, but why the hell would you drink this instead of, say, tap water? JPDIPSO (4189), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 18, 2008 Yellow straw color with a foamy popcorn white head. Actually the head is quite lasting. Playdoh and wet grain aromas. Hints of sweat as well. Still not the worst smelling brew ever. Very little sweetness detected, that for an NA is a compliment, yet no real malt presence either. I seem to catch flavors of oats and alfalfa. I somehow am transported back to the barn of my youth. Interesting interpretation of a NA, without the wort, malt, or overdose of hops. I dis catch some metal every once and a while, especially in the linger. Grovlam (2916), Copenhagen, Denmark Mar 8, 2008 Can. Large fin foamed white head that mostly diminished. Sparkling clear body with a pale yellow color. Spare lacework. Week notes of grass and sweet malt. Hint of corn. Over the palate light malty notes and a hint of caramel. Light bodied with an average carbonation and thin texture. Light sweet malty flavor. Hint of bitterness and very thin finish.
