3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle bought at Oliver’s The Delicatessen in Central.
Clear white-winesque very pale straw colour; Razor thin head and residual white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Minimal lacing with fizzy carbonation; Lightly tart aroma of pear flesh, apple flesh, and light sparkling wine; Light and pleasant sweet and tart taste of dry sparkling white wine, pear flesh, pear juice, tannic, and strong alcohol; Light body with dry, crisp and quite tart palate; Mouth feel is pleasant and dry white wine with very strong and natural pear character. Sweetness and tartness are in right amount and complement each other nicely; Alcohol taste is obvious at 8% abv, but it’s neither dominating nor caustic as in some cheap BSAs or Dunkler Bocks I’ve tasted. Nice! Crisp after taste, very easy and tasty to mouth.
Comments: A very accessible Perry with good and real pear taste, strong but pleasant booze, and nice crisp palate. With a bit more tartness, this one will be perfect. Nice one!

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2012 Had on tap at Beervana. A very special cider. Unusual indeed but everything worked very well together. Pretty much take their already awesome scrumpy, then add a load of pear and a touch of soft spritz. Was probably the highlight out of the Old Mout range. This and the scrumpy
