Pours a lightly hazy orange with a bubbly/creamy off white head. Aroma of pine, American hops, light alcohol, herbal, orange and caramel. Flavor of a load of American hops, caramel, pine, toffee, orange and a lot of hop bitterness. Very solid IIPA. Kinda reminds me of fresh Dreadnaught.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 crackedmachine (412) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 14, 2010
Bottle. Pours a deep copper-amber with a very slight head. Has a huge spicy and fruity hop aroma, maybe involving Summit hops but I could be wrong. Flavor pretty much follows in the same vein: lots of spicy bitterness with citrus and pine. I have high expectations for Old Schoolhouse, but this was surprisingly good. Like their regular IPA, this is immensely bitter. Beyond that they are two quite distinct beers.

Sweet pink grapefruit that is the best thing I can think of to tell the story of this beer. Aroma is citrus and hops. Body is great silky and soft with a everlasting bitter and peppery finsh. A very good beer and a must try for the hop heads.

Pours from the bottle a medium orange with a thin creamy colored head. Powerful aroma of pine, lemongrass, and orange peel. Strong carbonation with lots of hop character. Grassy, spicy, and piney hop flavors. Body holds the hops in check, but stay way in the background. Finish is dry and bitter. Lingers for a while.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours light amber with a large foamy beige head. Aroma is heavily floral over light caramel. Flavor is piney/citrus/floral with pine seeming to come on predominately. Certainly true to the NW traditions of hop/hop/hop. Nice long smooth bitter finish. Excellent.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, grapefruit, crystal malt, light pine, resin, and hop oil. Lightly oily, then lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Medium sweet, medium bitter, hop, pine, resin, crystal malt, slight wood, and caramel finish is slightly dry. 9%ABV is completely hidden throughout.
