Old Schoolhouse Brewer’s Reserve, waxed bottle and wicked stout flavor. Deep, dark, and complex with layers of caramel, chocolate, and roasted malts. Very rich with high alcohol and plenty of hops to balance out the loads of malted barley.

Bottle from Elizabeth St., Bellingham; there is a "best after" date but it can’t be read
Dark brown color, near black, with small head. Nice aroma, roasted malt, some chocolate, some tar, light coffee. Good body strength; strong flavor of roasted malt, with dark caramel, some coffee and pungent hop resins; strong bitterness too.
Imperial Stout by the book, very good.

The pour is black in color with a short lived off-white head. Roasted malt is the main aroma to this. Some coffee and a hint of chocolate. Lots of char to it as well. There is some licorice to the flavor along with lots of char and roast character. Maybe some molasses. Not a big fan of this one.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. There’s a lot of wax! Pours very dark brown/black with a foamy/creamy darkish tan head. I’m getting dark roasted malt and something like herb or anise for aroma. Full bodied. It has hints of brown sugar, lots of dark roasted malt, surely a bit of anise, a good dose of chocolate, and something that’s bitter - so hops of an unidentifiable type. The bitter doesn’t seem to come from the burnt malt - this is too smooth for that. Whoosh. There’s a lot going on here. Swear I just thought of rum. Amazing beer.

Bottle - Some herbal hop notes, dark roast and cocoa. Jet black with a rich brown. Earthy herbal hops and dark chocolate. Interesting and the hops are aggressive.
