A classic robust American porter with generous amounts of Northwest hops and a smooth, chocolaty, roasted finish.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours clear, but very dark, reddish brown with a slight foamy beige head. Aromas of chocolate and dark malt. Medium+ body with light, foamy carbonation. Flavor is very dark toast, but smooth, with a touch of chocolate. Must be a lot of hop because it finishes more bitter than most porter, and it doesn’t seem to be from burnt malt. Mild chocolate in the finish. Pretty refreshing.

Bomber, pretty fresh. Pours a very dark cola to mahogany brown color. A moderately thick, creamy head of light brown foam is slow to recede, settling in eventually as a thin blanket. A dense wash of suds breaks apart into small, spotty globules that stick to the glass. The aroma is quite hoppy, showing an array of green grass, pine, and spruce over a base of bittersweet dark cocoa, caramel, coffee roast, and a touch of cream. Flavors follow suit, again showing a bold northwest style hop profile that’s loaded with evergreen resins, bitter grasses, and some hints of citrus. Despite the aggressive hopping, there’s a smooth creaminess to the dry caramel and cocoa malts that soothes the brew, bringing it back towards balanced. Coffee roast seems to intensify on the finish, bringing a robust earthiness with it. The palate is substantial, but not full, sporting a smooth, whipped, creamy texture that dries out on the back end. Good, solid porter. Easily fingered as a northwest brew.

22 oz. bottle; first beer that I’ve tried from these guys; pours clear and dark brown with thick, chocolate colored head; creamy roast on the nose with some buttery chocolate, dry malts and a little fruit too; nice mouthfeel with creamy texture; lots of dry chocolate and sweetness trumping the bitter roast; finish is dry and ashy; chocolate with some spicy hops; plenty of warmth, texture and flavor; a smooth sipper and pretty damn good IMO

pours opaque with a small brown head, and a little lacing. smell is of milk chocolate, and some malt. taste is thick, milk chocolate, a touch of coffee, and nuts, ends smooth, more like a stout than a porter.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2011 Pour was ironwood dark with a creamy tan head ... looks gorgeous. Roasted malts, firewood char, and subtle cocoa in the nose. Flavor reflects, with the cocoa, char, and hops making for a fantastic, lingering finish. Soft carbonation makes the mouthfeel creamy and velvety smooth. Another winner from this wonderful, little brewery ... putting out extremely solid, classic, but distinctive styles. Probably my new favorite, local porter. "Rendezvous" is right ... I look forward to meeting this one again. Bravo!

22. Pours a grainy and nearly opaque dark ebony with a towering, sudsy tan head. Roasty and toasty nose, almost little hints of char and ash in there, really dark and dry aromatics. Creamy medium body, soft carb. Roasty, hot and dry toasted malt foundation on the mid-palate. Bits of bitter chocolate creep in, and it all washes out into a somewhat allspice-y dry finish. Very decisive stylistic statement as porters go, definitely running far to the other end of the spectrum from the sweet and creamy porters out there.

Deep brown body with red highlights. Slightly dry burnt chocolate with a soft woody vanilla note. Plently of flavor from medium roasted coffee beans. Soft mouthfeel and a dry finish.
