Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours clear, but very dark, reddish brown with a slight foamy beige head. Aromas of chocolate and dark malt. Medium+ body with light, foamy carbonation. Flavor is very dark toast, but smooth, with a touch of chocolate. Must be a lot of hop because it finishes more bitter than most porter, and it doesn’t seem to be from burnt malt. Mild chocolate in the finish. Pretty refreshing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Churchkey. Pours a deep ruby with amber highlights topped by a small, tannish brown head with nice retention. Big sheety lace. Aroma is powdery, slightly floral, light and juicy, lemon and orange. Sweet grapefruity hops come through. Taste is citrus, pine, herbal hoppy, heavy herbal. Nice lemon and herbal bitterness. A little on the thin side but very sessionable albeit a little chalky on the palate towards the end. Not bad- a hoppy session porter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Black, beige head, frothy, nice lacing.   Really looks like a stout.   Semi-sweet roasted malt nose, noticeable cocoa.   Smells good!   Soft roasted malts, not overly hoppy, and most importantly not astringent.   Light for a porter, but still has decent flavor.   If this were on nitro it would be one sessionable porter.   Did I mention I am happy its not astringent?   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Could be a bit heaftier.   Clean finish, lingering cocoa like sweetness, roasted malts, and a smidgen of hops.   This is pretty good.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22. Pours a grainy and nearly opaque dark ebony with a towering, sudsy tan head. Roasty and toasty nose, almost little hints of char and ash in there, really dark and dry aromatics. Creamy medium body, soft carb. Roasty, hot and dry toasted malt foundation on the mid-palate. Bits of bitter chocolate creep in, and it all washes out into a somewhat allspice-y dry finish. Very decisive stylistic statement as porters go, definitely running far to the other end of the spectrum from the sweet and creamy porters out there.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose has notes of chocolate, coffee, and some patent malt here and there. Light earthy and lightly floral hop profile. Pours black, nice creamy tan head. The flavor is chocolatey up front, coffee notes in the mid palate and dry roasty patent malt in the finish. Some lingering dryness and roast. Nice bodied, medium carbonation, creamy, smooth. Really enjoyable house porter.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a small fizzy light brown head that fell to a wispy covering. The nose is slightly sweet with chocolate and light roast with a minimal leafy hoppiness. The flavor is a bit sweet for the style as far as my preference for the style goes. A little thin and lacking in character beyond the sweetness. Minimal hops on the finish with some lingering chalkiness. Medium bodied and a bit clingy with light soft carbonation. An ok Porter if you go for the sweeter side.
