Bomber. Harsh bitterness from start to finish. Grapefruit and pine with some malty flavors in the background. Dry bitter finish. Tasty.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottled dating but was purchased recently. Pours hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with nice retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of orange, grapefruit, pine, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, caramel, mango, herbal, floral, and citrus rind. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity. Taste of grapefruit, pine, orange, caramel, biscuit, mango, toast, herbal, floral, citrus rind, and piney spiciness. Good amount of spicy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pine, biscuit, caramel, floral, toast, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Pretty nice balance of flavors with a decent bitterness/sweetness balance. Moderately cloying pine bitterness present on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy, slick, and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good IPA. Nice hop profile with decent balance; quite smooth to drink. Would have liked to see it a bit drier with less cloying bitterness; but this was still quite enjoyable.

drpimento (2341) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 16, 2012
This beer gets better the more I try it. Poured at a good temperature, with a nice, thick, cream-colored head and good lacing. Color is a slightly hazy amber with lots of bubble trails. Aroma is mainly fresh hop with some slight roast malt richness that nicely balances and complements the hops and adds to the completeness of the brew as a whole. Flavor’s like nose, dryish, nutty grain, grapefruit with pine and excellent carbonic tang/ hop bitter balance in a nice way along with just enough sweet to level. Body is chewy, no high points, mouth filling, great carbonation - excellent! Finish is very long, good for slow drinking, a little boozy, but very satisfying.

Malt base in the aroma without much of the hops to come. Pours amber with a small head. The bitterness hits from the start of the swallow and continues throughout. Nice and dry, quite refreshing.

(22oz bomber thanks to bu11zeye) clear gold, wispy film of white bubbles. Nose of honey, agave/herbal, cream, waffles. Taste is quite bitter, agave, pine, grapefruit, super bitter finish.

PhillyCraft (3631) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 28, 2012
Bottle split with that sick mullet tim, pours a cloudy hazy orange with bubbly white medium head, good lacing. Aromas of tangerine, orange juice, lightly bitter grassy hops, wood, caramel. Taste is much of the same, very smooth and restrained on the hop front. Excellent. Perfectly balanced ipa with the malts and hops working in unity.

Dark amber with a thick white head. Ample lacing in the glass. Green hops dominate the nose. Medium bodied and concentrated. Citrus and pine notes lead to bitter hops on the finish.

Aroma is hops hops hops and citrus. One of the better combinations of smells and they master it. Taste is more average, but good. Hops and spice with some hints of vanilla and wheat. Nice thick body, good carbonation.

Pours clear copper with a nice off-white head. Very hoppy as you would hope, though mostly just bitter. Enjoyed it despite that, would drink this again.

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 6/25/12

Aroma: The nose has a good amount of tropical fruit and grapefruit, with some resin notes
Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange color with a small, bubbly white head and some decent lacing
Flavor: It is mildly sweet from the tropical fruits, but the bitterness is clearly the dominant component here
Palate: The body is medium, it is sticky, has a soft-to-average carbonation, and a lingering, dry finish
Overall Impression: I actually quite enjoyed this one. It did a lot of what I want from an IPA. This one has a nice West Coast style to it. It isn’t anything original, and it doesn’t really approach the top-of-style offerings, but it is a heck of a solid IPA.
