hazy amber with a thick white head. Nice aroma. Hopy and vegital. Flavour is very full. Bitter hopy and vegital. Very nice finish. The aroma is slightly woody as well. The lingering aftertaste eventually becomes spicy. This is a well balanced and delicate brew.

Thanks to eaglefan538 for allowing me to try a neww beer from a new brewery. Complex hop flavor, pine and earthy hops, with also some citrus. Biscuity and caramel malts, but certainly not overly sweet. Moderate to high level of bitterness.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from SL. The pour was quite nice, very genrous white colored head on top of a light amber color, body with some haze to it. The aroma was rich resinous piney bitterness, light and faint caramel. The flavor was full of the resinous piney hops, some floral character, strong bittering hops, and a caramel but somewhat dry base. Full body and malt support, yet they were not sweet or "balancing," much more on the dry side of things giving this IPA a nice fullness. A little more of the West Coast flavored hops vs. the seemingly noble bittering hops, and this thing would be kicking! Very nice as it was and at a very fair price if I recall correctly!

[3075-20100702] Sample. Evergreen spruce tips hops aroma. Hazy, medium orange brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Bitter grapefruit-like orange hops flavour has a long bitter grainy citrus aftertaste. Medium body is bitter. Tasty, pretty good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: An intense and extremely bitter resinous IPA. Good even if exaggeratedly bitter.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed fresh (some time ago) a few weeks after receiving it as a bonus from brewolf. Thanks a lot Michael
The look: Clear dark golden body, lots of small particles, medium beige head with medium retention
In long: Nose is very hoppy and the hops have a muscular character. This doesn’t smell like smooth aromatic floral or fruity hops. This smells like a bucket of hops resin. Taste is more of the same. There is a hefty does of caramel but this beer is all about the truckload of citrusy and very resinous hops and its high sticky bitterness. The bitterness level is very high. Finish is loooooonnngg, very looooooonnnnggg, lasting for a good full minute (I kid you not). They really went crazy on the bettering hops with this beer. One of the most bitter IPA I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for balance, look somewhere else. I’ve rarely considered a beer too bitter but it is the case here. Body is oily and the carbonation is a bit lacking. A more lively body/carbonation would have helped to lighten up this bitterness monster. I liked it even if exaggeratedly bitter but honestly making an IPA so extremely bitter can be a double edge sword. But what’s wrong with a with a double-edge sword? You’re supposed to grab it by the handle so the double edge thing should not bother you. And isn’t a double-edge sword better than a single-edge sword for, you know, cutting stuff and killing people? Just saying.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle… Hazy, deep golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Fruity, malty nose – apricot, resin and fallen peach. Medium to full-bodied with tingly carbonation. Fuzzy fruit bitterness alongside lesser notes of toffee and biscuit malts. Snappy, medium bitter, dry finish. Totally works for me.
