Pours a thin head on a dark brown body. The aroma is mostly roasted malt with some caramel in the background. The taste tends towards a caramel sweet but stops short, a little watery, roasted malt in the middle. A little confused. The texture is soft with moderate carbonation. A pretty middle of the road brown ale.

22 oz. bottle shared by DrSilverworm in December 2012. Pours a clear brown color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor had some roast, dark chocolate, hints of caramel sweetness with some earthy hops to the finish. Pretty standard brown for the most part.

Clear very dark brown with a tall off-white head. Rich malty aroma, dusty cocoa powder. Rich sweet malty smooth. Excellent Brown Ale.

A tasty brown ale wrapped in a solid dark brown color with good head. Caramrl and dark chocolatr notes. Definitely some fruity undertones, possibly orange but maybe lemon.

Bottle. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, nuts and soft hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good beer.

22oz bottle, shared. Mostly clear dark ruby red color. Little off-white head. Bit of lace. Dark fruity nose. Smooth, lighter, softer carbonation. More dry texture. Some maple syrup. Light chocolate. Little bitter taste. Nice nose and flavor to this. Something about it is lacking for me, but it’s a decent brown ale

Bottle. Copper pour with mocha head with nice lacing. Chocolate, nuts, bread. Nice bitterness and some sourness. Lighter body than expected. Some sweetness and bitterness at the finish combined with well balanced carbonation

22oz bottle, poured a gorgeous brown with a creamy tan head (tulip glass) slightly less appealing dark copper in a pint glass, same head, both with great lacing. Smell was lightly sweet and malty. Delicious crisp forefront with a solid roast finish. Clean and easy drinking. Could use a little more body, but still a great early autumn brown ale!
