2010 Autumn Festival of Ales. Poured a dark reddish brown. Thin off-white head. Smokey nuttiness in the aroma. Medium-bodied; Nutty flavor which fades to malt. Bitter aftertaste from the malt and nuts and hops.

Pours a very dark brown with a thin tan head and a bit of lacing as it goes down. It has a nice nutty smell that mixes with the toasted malt. The taste is of the nuts upfront followed by an odd metallic and acidic flavor. I don’t know if the tap lines were dirty or what but there was a very odd finish to this brew. As this brew warmed, the odd skunky flavor increased and really drew my attention away from all of the nice things that were going on. This was definitely not the smooth nut brown that I would expect.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2008 [draft - 2004 Autumn Festival of Ales - Honeoye Falls, NY] Clear brown color with a very thin white head. Nutty and malty aroma with sweet and earthy notes. Creamy nut and malt flavor with a smooth finish.

Ruby body with a white head. Butterscotch aroma, some light malts as well are evident. Thin body, somewhat watery. The taste isn’t bad but a bit bland for the style. Clean ending.

Had on tap at The Old Toad. Smooth, roasty flavors. Color is a deep brown. Sweet, but not too thick. Overall a good session nut brown but lacking complexity.

Dark amber colour with ruby highlights. Thin off-white head. Smokey nuttiness in the aroma. Medium-bodied; Nutty flavour which fades to malt. Bittering aftertaste from the malt and nuts. Overal. pretty average for the style. I had this on draught at the Old Toad in Rochester, New York on 22-September-2003.
Found this rating in my palm from way before, but it is still valid. Dark brown in colour with a thin off-white head. Completely absent in smell, nothing going for it. Very light in 'nut' taste and somewaht bitter. An odd taste altogether. I had this on draught at the Old Toad in Rochester, New York on 25-January-2003.
