3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Old Town Brewing, as "Old Town Shanghai’d IPA," and listed at 6.2%. Crisp, fresh citrus nose with some mild caramel. Medium copper/brown color. Very nice bittering and overripe grapefruit zest. Thin-medium body. Full of flavor, mild aroma, and light bodied for the style. But doesn’t go the full West coast route. The high IBU level doesn’t really emerge in the flavor.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at the brewpub. Pours translucent dark gold with a creamy off-white head. Light citrus aroma. Med body. Flavors are relatively mild. But it’s bitter. Enough to make an impression. It’s fresh on tap - and that goes a long ways.

draft at their vanport brewery. very light golden color. decent hop flavor and bitterness but 65 ibu’s seems a little high for this one. Has subtle underlying characteristics of a belgian white....maybe it’s the color messing with my mind man. It’s like a white rascal and "normal" IPA had a love child. They should rename it hop rascal or maybe bitter rascal....sounds cooler then old town ipa. it’s a decent beer though.
