3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A well-balanced stout with a lot of great coffee and chocolate taste from the roast. Mouthfeel is a bit light for the breed, but it does serve to make for a very easy-drinking pint.

22oz bottle split with a friend. Kind of a something dull stout - could use a little more body.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a good stout. Itís dark, flavours of cereal, oats, and malted barley. Itís got satisfying flavour. Sometimes I crave Cheerios for their simple clean grain flavour. Thatís what this beer is like, except more (ful)filling. OYBC brews good beer and itís price point is considerably better than most microbreweries. Great value here. This Sasquatch Stout will wrap his big dark arms around you like you were his best friend.

A truly fantastic stout, though not with a strong aroma. Lovely coffee-ish flavour and finishes very smoothly. I would have again.

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: Light aroma of rich coffee and roasted malts.
Appearance: Pours opaque brown-black with a thin mocha-brown head that quickly dissipates with mild lacing.
Taste: Dark roasted malt offers up strong coffee notes without much bitterness, fading into a gently mettallic minerality that reminds me of the scent of pine or cedar(!!) that manages to be quite pleasant. Strange, but pleasant. Definitely a beer that made me do a double-take on more than one sip, but in a good way.
Palate: Thin and silky, with only very little carbonation and a little bit of mid-tongue astringency. Finish is of dark roast malt, coffee notes, with only very mild bitterness, and a lingering hint of that pine/cedar at the roof of the mouth.
Overall: If you like stouts, this is a pretty damn good one, but it is *very* strange. Those pine/cedar notes would seem out of place in most beers, but this one carries itself with a steady balance that invites sip after (confused, delighted) sip. My co-taster suggests it reminds him of sipping a stout at an autumn campfire, and Iím inclined to agree.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A good solid stout with strong chocolate flavours accompanied by more subtle coffee. An impressive stout for such a small brewery. Dark brown, almost black with red tinges but a thinness in the palate is the one small weakness. Overall a very good stout.

Pours a pretty thin but black with a thin tan head. Decent coffee and some chocolate, but not a great cup of coffee smell. not sure, its not working for me. Quite a smooth and easy drinking beer.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2013 On tap at Whet in Granville Island. Poured in a sleeve for measure and repoured into a small snifter for aroma. A pretty decent stout, with good notes of coffee and chocolate on the tongue. Not getting much nose, probably because the snifter is a bit tiny.
And more recently at Tap & Barrel in False Creek. Still a very decent local stout. I love it!
