Bottle from Jasper liqor store and wine cellar. Quite rubbery and roasted, pours oily and fairly thick. It maybe lacks a little body and the finish goes quite sharp and metallic. There’s a bit of blackcurrant later on and it dries out towards the end.

Nearly black pour with an average tan head that has good staying power. Leaves a little lace. Light coffee and dark fruit on the nose with a nice earthy touch. A lot of coffee in the mouth which overpowers a lot of the subtler notes from the nose. Good, but not great.

Growler. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Pretty light body but lots of roasty flavour. Coffee and chocolate notes. Some sweet malt any roasty bitterness. Not bad, but just too light bodied.

Aroma is oatmeal, roasty malts, licorice and a slight smokiness. Taste is rich malts which are balanced fairly well with a smooth bitterness. Appearance is a black body with a thin pearl head that retains fairly poorly.

Pour is a dark brown cola like color with a tight light caramel colored head. Nose is heavy roast and char with a light bit of dark malt and a faint touch of fudge. Taste is even more heavily charred and a bit acrid. Some malt berry sweetness in the back and a hint sugary behind all the char
