Ungstrup (11408), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 14, 2005 A black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet and slightly roasted. The flavor is very malty and dry and roasty, but also contains slight notes of soy sauce. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 27, 2005 Very dark brown colour. Green, roasty aroma with some sweet malts. Slightly malty, nutty flavour. Quite green. It’s not bad though, but I will have to revisit in a few weeks. Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 28, 2005 Deep charcoal, beige head sticks well to the glass. Very roasty nose boasts big charcoal notes at the same time that it claims sweet floury, oaty cerealic aspects. Malty, rounded palate makes one thing of cereal flakes more than once. Interesting dark fruit hints. Floral hops and woody hints contribute to balancing this well brewed stout. harrisoni (5382), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 29, 2006 650 bottle from BC Liquor store, Vancouver. I carried these bottles through Seattle to Portland and I think this was the last one. Black beer with tan lasting head. Very dry stout. Bit empty in mouth. Some charcoal. OK if not exciting BückDich (4559), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 21, 2005 Black, dark brown, tan sticky head, light lacing. Nose of firm roast, light astringency and fruity rich malts. The hops are a bit underbalanced but it’s very tasty. The roast is nice and subtle with coffee with some extra maltose sweetness. Finishes smooth. Nice. Thanks Josh.
