COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sergeants IPA is brewed in the old tradition using a 2 row pale ale malt and the prized East Kent golding hop. This is the same hop that was grown in Chilliwack for years.

Bottle: Pours a yellow tinged orangish colour. Nice thick frothy head. Very strong aroma smells of fruity (peach) hoppy. Actually it smells like orange sherbert! Creamy smooth start with a hop bitterness quickly taking over. Well carbonated but it doesn’t take away from the beer too much in my opinion. Strong lingering bitter aftertaste.

Peachy orange, opaque with sediment depositing on the bottom of my Maudite snifter. The head is behemothic! And it’s cakey and thick, it’s beyond meringue, it’s almost marzipan! Nice, nice stuff. The fresh samples I had were extremely floral and honey sweet, this older bottle had an awesome citrus eruption up my nostrils. Vivacious carbonation, malt is finely balanced, the bitterness is pleasing and finishes dry, but the aftertaste lasts just long enough for you take your next casual sip. It’s really a shame that I don’t have access to this Beer anymore...

Amber colored, clear with a big foamy off-white head. As is the style with the Canadian IPA’s, a pleasing hop aroma but not over the top hopped. Some unusual underlying herbal/spicy scent I can’t quite name...malt sweetness also present. Bitter, crisp, cedary up front, floral perfumy middle with a biting hop follow. The Kent Goldings must be the flavoring hop. A nicely made traditional IPA. Thanks Josh!

Appearance: slight haze, soft peachy hue, effusive carbonation, thick, fluffy head, with delicate lace...marred only by occasional brown flecks on the foam, and floating around the brew. Aroma: oily, fragrant and fruity, pineapple, tangerine, banana, lemon, a little spicy, too. Taste: big, bitter hops up front, grabbing hold of the palate and spilling the slick hop oils all over the mouth. Big mouthfeel, bold bitterness..can’t deny ...however, the body is too thin, and it feels imbalanced. The flavor, however, gets juicier and fruity as we go in, and that nearly makes up for it. Almost. But all in all, a nice, enjoyable, tasty IPA, quite a welcome surprise from Canada.

Pours a cloudy orange/brown with a fluffy with head that thinned a bit then stayed for the duration of the sampling. Aromas of citric hops, floral notes some malt. The flavour was citric, piney hops throughout with a subtle malt background (read couda been more) nice finish. A good I.P.A.

Orange amber in colour. Aroma was quite hoppy but with some caramel malt, floral and slightly sweet. Flavour was quite hoppy, lots of citrus, earthy. Medium body, high carbonation. Finishes with a moderate bitterness, dry and long. Very nice. Thanks piscator34.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2004 (Bottle) This has a nice big head with nice gold color. The flavor is malty not hoppy. There is a beefy smoky flavor here I think they must be from the "special hops" they use. I think they should destroy those hop rhizomes off the face of the earth and buy some cascade, tomahawk...and try again.

Bottle. Big head, a bit clumpy. Sticky lacing. Light floral and slightly sharp aroma. Different flavour I have trouble placing, creamy. Hops around the edges and in the finish. A bit of spice builds on the tongue by mid bottle. Some suspended floaties are added from the bottom of the bottle.
