LeMat (11), France Aug 16, 2009 White head and a amber body. Aroma are too light for me, but taste ok. Maybe it was the end of the barrel while carbo was quiet flat Oakes (8058), gone rambling, Vietnam Jun 18, 2009 Having never consumed patxaran, I am a little bit handcuffed with this rating, but here goes. It is an effervescent pink-accented amber colour. There’ s a hint of pink in the head as well. The footy, dusty aroma is both floral and fruity. Firm, malty palate with slight berryish note and light florals. Finishes with a creamy, sweet mouthfeel. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Jun 11, 2009 Bottle at Sous-Bock. Lovely red-amber color with thick white head. Fresh fruity, almost lagered aroma with bright wild berry notes. Clean, creamy mouthfeel. Super smooth. Has some medicinal qualities but mellow. Berries linger on the tongue. Interesting beer. bhensonb (4188), Woodland, California, USA Apr 28, 2009 Bottle at Académie De La Bière. Amber color with fluffy white head and chunks! Chunks are a plus. Fruits of all kinds and malt for aroma. Med. body with mild carbonation. Hint of sour. Apple, berry, caramel and nuts. Finishes towards dry. Didn’t get anise. Try this! Svesse (2601), Hässelby, Sweden Apr 25, 2009 (Draught at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 17 Apr 2009) Dark reddish amber colour with brief, white head. Fruity, malty nose with dark fruit, herbs and hints of plums. Fruity, malty taste with notes of crystal malts, plums and nuts. Medium body, low bitterness, fairly dry. A bit weird but defintely decent. yespr (11649), Copenhagen O, Denmark Nov 29, 2008 From tap at a bar opposite ONeal in Paris. Pours hazy orange with a collapsing white head. aroma is mild citric and malty. Light citric flavoured to a mild caramel malt base. light spiced and mild bitter into the finish. Light and delicate. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Feb 18, 2008 Bottle at Le Sous-Bock, Paris The bottle kept spitting foam for 30 minutes; it pours a dark amber color, with a lot of small particles in it; it has obviously a very big head. The aroma is strange, it can be a mix of herbs and lemonade. Medium body structure, with some residual sweetness, but no special flavor. The Patxaran (whatever it is), may be detected in the aftertaste. Very ordinary, smooth, sweetish beer, with a strange touch. thebeertourist (2753), Oslo, Norway Jul 17, 2007 From bottle at Le Sous-Bock, Paris. Hazy, burgundy with a good tan head. Fruity aroma with hints of spices. Refreshing prune flavours, balanced by bitter spices. Fizzy. Interesting and enjoyable.
