Bottle at Académie De La Bière. Amber color with fluffy white head and chunks! Chunks are a plus. Fruits of all kinds and malt for aroma. Med. body with mild carbonation. Hint of sour. Apple, berry, caramel and nuts. Finishes towards dry. Didn’t get anise. Try this!

brewed for the contract brewer Oldarki - hazy golden-amber colour with a nice firm foam; aroma of plum and yeast with a touch of alcohol; medium-bodied, rather sweet and with a hint of sourness; no bitterness and a gentle fruity finish - unusual and quite pleasant

(Draught at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 17 Apr 2009) Dark reddish amber colour with brief, white head. Fruity, malty nose with dark fruit, herbs and hints of plums. Fruity, malty taste with notes of crystal malts, plums and nuts. Medium body, low bitterness, fairly dry. A bit weird but defintely decent.

(Rating #4901)

Bottled 330ml. -from Bières Cultes at Rue des Halles, Paris. Pale amber coloured, big white head, dusty nose with hint of berries. Quite weak taste; some dry berries with hint of spices and plums. Nothing special here, even not so good or pleasant. That Patxaran supposed to be some sort of Basque booze but for me it’s quite repulsive.

Bottle at Sous-Bock. Lovely red-amber color with thick white head. Fresh fruity, almost lagered aroma with bright wild berry notes. Clean, creamy mouthfeel. Super smooth. Has some medicinal qualities but mellow. Berries linger on the tongue. Interesting beer.
