2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours ruby red with a white head. Smells of toffee, vinegar, some residual sugary undertones. Tastes of caramel, some dry vinegary hints, some fruity elements with a dry finish. Not what I was expecting.

Thanks for the bottle Jason!
Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a tan head. Smells of sour cherries, rich caramel malt. The taste is a blend of sour and malty sweetness with some acidity. It ends crisp and dry with some lingering fruit flavors. Medium body with fine carbonation. Overall quite nice for what it is.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Moderate sweet and light sour aroma. Clear dark orange color with a small off white head. Moderate sour beginning that fades slowly in the finish and gets a mild old wood flavor. Seems refined for a sour ale. Not as in your face as much as most.

Poured into a tulip. Big thanks to SteveFinny for this. Swing-top bottle, 1/2 liter.
3.5 A: Swing-top opened with a loud POP! First pour gave me just about all head. Several minutes later I got a full glass. Lightly hazed deep amber color. Three fingers of foamy off-white head. Retention is super good, but some of that might come from maintenance bubbles. A short ring of lacing is left.
4.0 S: This maintains a lot of the base beer (which I havenít had, but itís a reasonable assumption) and it smells great. Lots of caramel with toffee underneath. Plum, prune, and some raisin fruitiness. Bourbon is complementary, but adds a pleasant earthiness. The wild portion is mainly funk (in the nose at least). Musty basement, dry-rotten wood, and hay.
4.5 T: The taste introduces some acid and sourness. Itís not overbearing and it works well within the context of the other flavors. Itís mainly a tangy lactic acid, but there is some acetic in there as well. The bourbon earthiness and leather mixes extremely well. The base still offers plenty of caramel with lesser amounts of toffee and molasses. Lots of plum, raisin, prune, and dates. Oak and vanilla. This is pretty sweet for a wild and it works out to be quite enjoyable. I have no doubt that the excess carbonation is from this beer not being fully done, but the result is probably better than with the extra time itíd take to ferment it out. Very tasty.
4.0 M: Medium body. The carbonation level is fine. It seems like the beer itself doesnít hold much of the excess. Not that creamy, but somewhat velvety if you can understand the differences I mean between the two words. Super smooth.
5.0 D: Very tasty wild. Well developed with tons of awesome flavors. So easy to drink and the alcohol never becomes an issues at all.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared with Wally, Adam and others in NH. Pours clear amber with a creamy, tan head. Sweet nose with hints of caramel, tangy fruits, berries. Medium to big sweet flavor with soft caramel, tangy fruits, some acidic bite. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. A bit of warmth in the finish, with tangy fruits, toasty sugars, subtle honey, very faint toasted wood, touches of vinegar. Quite nice.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Harvest Wines. Pours deep brown with no head. Pretty flat looking. The nose is light herbs, honey, rose hip, funky tart sugars. The taste is more funky floral flavors, some spiced cherry and light bile. The acidityís a strange and discomforting. This beerís sort of like a flanders red in flavor. Light body, a bit flat. Overall, fairly good flavors that arenít perfectly synthesized. Decent.

Enjoyed with friends. Thanks Leighton in a Hill Farmstead Glass.
A - Sort of Flanders Brown ale appearance. slight red hints, light brown, very minimal head fades fast to nothing.
S - Scent is very very flemish, mild brett, some level of fruits like peach and pear.
T - Vinegar and lactic. Slight acidity with this green grape skin dryness. Bit of burnt caramel.
M - 20% carbonation. Medium body.
O - Itís alright. Needs more something and less vinegar.

Pour out of 375 swing top, thanks to Josh for the pour! Dark reddish pour with white head, aroma has notes of vinegar, some red fruits, hints of vanilla, some funky notes, hints of grass. Taste is a mix of dark fruits, grapes, hints of vinegar, vanilla, touch of earth, hints of grass and lots of funk, finishing fairly sweet, tart sour as well. Not bad at all!
