Olde Burnside Stone of Destiny 2012 | |||||||||||||
RATINGS: 3 MEAN: 3.3/5.0 WEIGHTED AVG: 2.93 SEASONAL: Special EST. CALORIES: 360 ABV: 12%
COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION After the success of last year’s "Stone of Destiny", we asked ourselves, "how can we do this beer with a different barrel and still be true to our scottish roots?" We did some research and discovered that Captain Kidd notorious(alleged)priate, was indeed Scottish! In addition, legend has it that his treasure is buried off the coast of Connecticut among the Thimble Islands! With this knowledge, we decided on a little pirate influence for this year’s "Stone of Destiny." What says pirates better than rum? We contacted our friends at Thomas Tew distilling in Newport, RI, and they supplied us with some rum barrels in which we aged our imperial black and tan. The beer which emerged is rich, dark, and decadent. The beer is imminently drinkable with an amazing aroma. Coffee, chocolate, and rum notes are all presentand work together to produce a unique brew which we know you will savor....arrghh!! Sein Metu (without fear).
