Tap @ Horseshoe Pub. Good nose, malty, little funky gamey thing. Leather, seseame, smoke. Hazy brownish orange color. Ok head that faded. Sweet/sour flavors Toffee, hints of whiskey, lemon, little spice clove or corriander. Thin body, lite creamy mouthfeel, sour finish. Ok brew, that has a unique taste. Canít say as its for me

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled from store-bought growler. This pours a dark amber color with a generous beige head. Aroma is malty, piney, hoppy, with a slight smoky scent. This one has an interesting hop profile, that I enjoyed very much. Grassy, piney, citrussy hops, intermingled with a sweet malty taste. A very well balanced brew, and a personal favorite. I only wish this would be bottled in six packs.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 23, 2004 There arenít a whole lot of local brews in CT but this one is very good, and is available on draft all over the state. Itís got a nice copper color and a medium head. The flavor is sweet and malty, with some tanginess from the hops. Very smooth and drinkable as well. This is definitely a brewery that deserves to be supported-I would love to see their beer available in 6-packs.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap. Slight citric malty nose with some caramel hints. Mildly hazy copper color with a small off white head. Malty caramel, sweet, sticky, and rather metallic flavors coming through. Decent, but I think it has been a tad overrated to date by some of the fellow CT homeboys.

Thanks to my future sister-in-law for getting me a growler of this. Nice easy drinking Scottish Ale. Nice malt flavor to it. Had worse. Had better.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slightly burnt flavor, malty, good American hopping but still mild. Amber color. Fizzy, mineral water carbonation seems to take up some of the flavor. (on tap at Willimantic Brewing Company, CT)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A pleasant and drinkable brew. Enjoyed this out of a 64 oz jug. Malty-vinegar flavor. Almost leathery. Slight Citrus and even a hint of tobacco. Foamy head. Not bad, would like to try again on tap.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear deep copper body, with big white head on pour. Aroma is caramel malty, medium sweetness. Flavor is sweet caramel, reasonably balanced by some mellow grassy/pine bitterness in the back half of the mouth. Overall, a beer thatís pleasant enough for those who want taste in their beer, but not intimidating to the masses.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sweet malty aroma, with a little hop aroma. Same goes for the flavor, quite malty (perfect for the style) with just enough hop bitterness to prevent cloying. Body was light, again quite appropriate. Dangerously drinkable!!, I think I finished the half gallon growler (the only bottle size available) in 75 minutes. OOPS!!
