COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This barleywine is a special ale aged in oak bourbon barrels from the heart of Kentucky’s Bourbon Country. The long maturation of the beer in the bourbon barrels makes for a uniquely American Ale, offering robust and rich flavors.

Bottle shared at a recent BA/RB tasting [2007 vintage]... Poured orange/amber with a thin head. Sugary, cookie dough-like. Whiskey imparted vanilla, but really mild as far as head. Being sat down for three years has generously affected this beer.

22 ounce from Bruisin Ales. Tons of vanilla in nose and first taste. Whiskey. Some caramel and sweetness. Nice. This will take some getting through. 2007 on bottle.

Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Clear red/brown - offwhite head. Chocolate, lakridskonkeft, high malty, ryebread, labre laver, candy, red berries, bourbon. oakey, vanilla. Very nice.

Unclear medium to dark amber color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, light nutty, moderate alcohol - bourbon, vanilla, wood notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, licorcice - laber larver. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100912]

Bottle at Papsø. Hazy orange coloured with a medium sized beige head. Sweet aroma of caramel and dried fruits with notes of liquorice and alcohol. Sweet flavour of caramel, dried fruits, liquorice and alcohol. Warming alcoholic finish. Too much alcohol.

Bottled. A hazy dark brown beer with a light tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and some hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, spices, alcohol, bourbon, and wood, leading to a dry bourbon finish.
