3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JCB (3808) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 13, 2012Bomber from Total Wine, Durham. Cheap’un. Kudos for the p00tzy label! Not a style I generally freak about but this was a surprisingly nice English style brown. The heavy dose of pecans complements it well but also accentuates the modest hopping, giving this one a balance and depth that I enjoyed.

Bonus appearance for the label, of course. Smells nutty - pecans, I’m gonna say. Some cinnamon and nutmeg, as well. Flavor is pecans, spices, an bourbon, Kind of Pecan pie sweetness going on, too.

On tap at Milltown. Pours a deep rich brown with ruby highlights and one finger of sandy tan head. Nose is very nice, nutty and biscuity with notes of fresh baked bread and malt sweetness. Dry and balanced flavor, nutty with lots of biscuit malt and a light chocolate character. Lightly roasted character, dry and light medium bodied.
