COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
New Frontier Beer: Boone, travelling through Kentucky on his way to the frontier, needed a place to store his beer. He placed an imperial brown in discarded bourbon barrels. Months later he had an amazing beer that would cellar well. And so the legend was born. *Events presented here are not factual, but are based on actual events. In our dreams. After sampling the beer a few times. Cheers!

Bomber. I hate brown ales but this one is brilliant. Just the right amount of bourbon flavor... does not overpower the brown ale style (i.e. it can still be called a brown ale). Bourbon aroma (of course). Overall highly recommended beer from these exceptional brewers!

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Clear, deep, dark copper ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is a mélange of bourbon, caramel, milk chocolate and vanilla. Full-bodied with a mildly creamy mouthfeel. The flavor provides heavy bourbon and vanilla with touches of milk chocolate and caramel. Finishes boozy and mostly sweet. Now this is a brown ale! Kudos to landhoney for bringing this bottle back from Charlotte with him!

Sample at the Central OH BA Tasting at From The Vine on 06/02/2012: The beer pours a clear mahogany color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of dark malt, bourbon and fruit. Medium body with a bourbon character and notes of sweet malt, brown sugar and a touch of dark fruit. The finish is slightly boozy with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle thanks to TURDFERGUSON: Poured a deep brown with a carbonated off white bubble head, it dissipated fast to leave a jello like thin film. Aroma is strong caramel malt with a nice boozy bourbon hint. Taste is very complex with roasted caramel malt, souring wood, vanilla and bourbon mixed. A delightful brown ale for a change.

Draft. Hazy brown. No head but typical. Tasty and smooth bourbon finish. Aroma is sweet bourbon. Very little alcoholic finish. Awesome beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled at an esbls tasting at Strykzone’s plade. Poued vey dark brown Nose is dominated by whiskey aromas. Medium plus in body. Alcoholic mouth feel The flavor is complex and whiskey again dominates. This was an interesting take on a brown beee and overall was fun to drink, but is was a sipper for sure.

Bottle back from bestway. Dark brown chestnut color. This is more what I expect from these guys with their big beers. Tasty. Lots of wood and vanilla flavor from the treatment. Base beer with some nuttiness and caramel working in the background. Decently sweet bit not overly so. Aroma is purple fruit and vanilla. Finish is on the edge of soy sauce and purple fruit again. Diverse drink that will appeal to a lot of different tastes since it all comes together pretty well.

22 ounce bottle thanks to Geoff. Nice carbonation. Slightly boozy nose. Caramel and brown sugar and molasses like sweetness in taste. A little bit sticky. Not too much bourbon on the taste.

Big thanks to Jon for bringing this one in! Pours a murky brown with small bubbly head. Nose and flavor bring beautiful hazelnut, caramel, and molasses but with some good boozy bite and vanilla to expand the palate of this brown ale. Medium bodied, with a strange astringency at the finish that I expect would fade with a month or two of age. Tasty stuff!
