A Greek epithet for Dionysus, Eiraphiotes means "Twice-Born." This Imperial Pilsner was a stellar beer right out of the conditioning tank, but its second birth from chardonnay barrels has transformed it into a truly magnificent creation. Very Limited Production.

750 ml bottle to snifter (2012 vintage). Looks good; a cloudy orange with white lacing. Smells solid; sweet and doughy with nice Chardonnay notes. Tastes like it smells with some hoppiness. Average on the palate. Enjoyable.

750 ml bottle shared by b3shine. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small bubbly off white head. The aroma has some yeasty bread, herbal, mild fruits, and definite chardonnay influences. The flavor is fruity, chardonnay notes, old herbal hops, yeasty bread with some dry grass at the finish. I found this to be interesting and worth a try.

Bottle shared by b3shine. Poured a hazy copper color with an average frothy white head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Good moderate wood, hop and small malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate sweet flavor with with a moderate sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer and good of style.

Bottle from Olde Hickory Station. Orange-gold with a white head. Aroma is wheat and lemon. Tastes are sweet bready malt, wood, grapey. Even dry finish. Estery. Light wine vibe. Had a sour right before this, so it took a while for this to come around. Decent enough. 7.2

Nice heavy flavor with thicker ale like consistency rather than lager. Chardonnay aroma and taste notes are subtle but very Complimentary.

2012 bottle from Paradiso, Georgetown, 05/05/2012. Golden pour, little head and a few soapy bubbles floating around. Aroma sweeter than your average pilsner, fruity, round white wine/vinous character dominates, vanilla underneath, straw malts in the background. Taste is less sweet, but still strong barrel character, light fruitiness, subtle caramel and light grassy bitter finish. Medium thin, buttery palate, moderately dry finish. Easy drinking, went well with food.

I can see why the ratings are mixed on this. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of dusty lemon and barrel. The flavor is vinous with wood, some lemon and zesty oranges, pretty mellow. Easygoing but flavorful. Nice.

Cloudy gold pour, fluffy white head. Lots going on here. I get the chardonnay flavors, I get a nice yeasty, bready note. But there is something odd. Vegetal, herbal almost. This beer is almost fantastic, but almost bad at the same time.

Bottle - thanks JCB! Well this is an interesting one! First pour is clear, but hazy to cloudy after that. Nice butterscotch color with some fizzy off white head that leaves good lacing in its wake. Aroma is very grapey, honey, grass, grain. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, very vinaceous. Light bitterness initially, but it grows with drinking. Light astringence from the time in barrel. Medium body, flat carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Lingering bitterness in the far finish. A very interesting beer and one I enjoyed drinking.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, slightly hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of lots of biscuit, bread, hints of grain into some pine, grass, slight spicy, yeasty notes with a very slight touch of fruit. Taste had a mix of biscuit, dough, yeast into some grass, slight earthy notes into a hint of spice, some slight fruit, finishing fairly bitter, dry.
