COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pronounced just as it looks, traditional Bavarian style wheat ale. Unfiltered with hints of banana, bubblegum, coriander and clove. Our Hefe-Weizen is brewed with a special strain of yeast from the Weihenstephaner brewery in Freising, Germany dating back to 1040 ad. sometimes served with a lemon slice, and that’s ok.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a weizen glass. Pours hazy light orange with large deep golden highlights with small white head. Aroma is clove and banana, medium/light body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is grainy, clove, banana, and some coriander.

Bottle courtesy of tmongoose thank you sir! Hazy golden amber pour with a white head. Aromas of yeast, wheat, banana, and spices. Nice banana character with clove and coriander notes. Crisp finish. Decent example of a hefe.

22oz. Aroma of dough, citrus, clove, and coriander. Pours hazy golden with medium thin white head. Sweet refreshing taste. Light body, thin texture, spice notes, very very fizzy. Way too much carbonation. Really negative effect on the finish for me in an otherwise pretty good hefeweizen.

On tap at Tyler’s, Durham. Warm afternoon, desire for local tick = decision to try Hefe. All things considered, not too bad. Appealing look, bracing dry nose. Light on the esters and the taste - dry and spicy with just a touch of citrus refreshment - in times came across as more of a wit than anything else. Solid.

pours a slightly hazy yellow with a quickly falling white head. A bit of spice on the nose but I’m not getting any banana or clove. The flavor is mildly sweet with a touch of banana that i was looking for in the aroma. Generally Us brewed hefe - weizens are better than their German counterparts simply due to freshness, but this one isn’t going to give the imports much competition. No real faults just very plain.

Tap. Cloudy golden with small head. Light spice, could use a bit more maybe, but the flavor is pleasant and balanced.

22oz bottle shared. poured out hazy unfiltered yellow color with limited white head. the aroma was of banana and clove right off, typical hefe. the flavor was about the same banana and clove up front and mild wheat in the middle. not a bad hefe and not a great one..easily drinkable.

Tap at olde hickory - pours a cloudy lemon yellow in the dim bar lights. Aroma is banana, bubblegum, and clove. Taste is a bit sweet with notes of bitterness. Palate is a bit effervesant finishes dryish. Overall, true to style, average, but not spectacular.
