3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from timfoolery. It’s a wild pour. One inch of dark brown and 4+ fingers of creamy/foamy tan head. Aroma through that head is tuff, but there’s a lot of heavy dark burnt malt down below. Med body or better. Flavor is fairly smooth burnt malt with some aspects that could be bourbon or celery. Odd, but I could call it either way. There’s some chocolate, and it’s rather ashy, but it’s dry, seemingly astringent, and there’s a lot of hop bitter. Pardon while I attend to the foam creeping from the bottle. Damn nice drink. Much more flavor than many stouts. As flavorful as an IS, but in a very different, but similar, way.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a nice dark dark brown with a finger plus of tan head. Nice aroma featuring malt. VERY fizzy - pretty much excessively so. Malt and coffee dominate taste.
Will be interesting to see how this is when not so fizzy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle pours dark brown, nearly black, with a light brown head. Moderate retention; superior lacing.
Smells surprisingly hoppy for style. A clear hop presence in the flavor too, but this is dominated by dark roasted grains with a touch of char. More than a hint of char in the finish, with dark roasted grains with a hint of coffee lingering on and on. Medium-full body; very good carbonation level; smooth; dry finish.
O: a nice stout, but with a bit too much burnt grain flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Beautiful deep brown pour with two fingers of tan, creamy head. Huge hit of chocolate on the nose followed by licorice, vanilla, and roasted grains. Taste not what you’d expect, a lot stronger on the hops than most stouts. Dark chocolate, smokiness, and a big piney hop finish. Hop bitterness lingers for a long time. Really unique stout.
