Blacker than night, stouter than stout is our Imperial Stout. Brewed with a lot of malt & a touch of honey, Imperial Stout is rich & robust with deep, deep notes of dark chocolate & espresso.

Bottle. Pours a dark chocolate color with a small head. Mucho alcohol in the nose but the coffee and chocolate is peeking behind. Great flavor that really has a nice tobacco note reminding me of a black cavendish pipe smoke mixed with chocolate and coffee. Mouthfeel is rich and the honey adds a nice finish without being cloying.

I almost passed this up at GABF thinking I’d had it, but a beer miracle, a beeracle happened. Pours a totally black color with a medium tan head. The aroma is a massive roast, tobacco, some heavy chocolate. The flavor is a rich chewy beast with tobacco, light coffee, heavy roast, some light dark fruit. Awesome! Very dry and heavy.

22 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with reddish highlights and a medium sized rapidly diminishing tan head. The aroma was pretty straight forward roasted malts, chocolate with hints of coffee. The flavor has roasted malts, char, chocolate, light coffee and a touch of honey sweetness. The mouth feel is smooth with a medium-full body.

22 oz. bottle via trade and shared at the STLHops Pinball Party. 2011 vintage. Pours a cloudy brown with some amber highlights and a small tan head. Aroma delivers on the honey promised on the label, along with almonds and pecans, roasted malts, coffee, and baker’s chocolate. Flavor of nuts, roasted malts, toasted brown sugar, honey, chocolate and caramel. Tasty and smooth. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, toasty, roasty, and smooth mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice- with a little more body this could be even better.

Thick deep black pour with a brown foamy head (in sampler glass). Aroma of chocolate and coffee with flavor much of the same ... chocolate mocha milk shake like. Slight sweet finish. Very nice.

Bottle. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate roasted chocolate, dark honey sweet and cooffee aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Good complex roasted dark chocolate flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good complex brew.

Bottle: Very dark brown pour with a brown head. Heavy roast and chocolate nose. More roasty notes in the taste with espresso and floral hops. Sort of an earthy presence. The sweetness of the honey never really shined through in my eyes, but it remained balanced with the roasty, floral, and earthy bits. Nicely done.

Appearance Pours dark brown with tight tan bubbles.

Aroma: Dusty cocoa like malt and wet dog like roasted malts..

Taste. Burnt roast cocoa vanilla. Ashes and coffee. Finishes roasty..

Mouth. Full bodied decently carbonated..

Overall: The word honey triggers a special sensation in my brain, and I immediately think of it’s sweet, goey goodness. I was looking for just a touch and unfortunately didn’t find it .
