4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Last of the 2012 purchased at Brawley’s in Charlotte NC. Pours rich deep black brown. Head is a rich milk chocolate froth of small bubbles that quickly disappears. Nose is restrained rich deep chocolate notes. Taste is sweet dark chocolate bitters with just a hint of honey sweetness. The rich dark chocolate flavor broadens on the finish. A staggeringly good beer.

2011 Bottle thanks to Brett: This one was impressive with sweet (but not too much) flavors of chocolate and honey. Yummy! Went down very nice, a tad ’thin’ yet very well done. I’d like more of this easy drinking ale..

Aroma is malt forward - dark fruit and achocol. Pours a deep black with a slight tan head. Taste is bitter with achocol finish. Medium bodied and medium carbonation. Overall, an enjoyable Imperial Stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike!
The beer appears a near black shade with a thin tan head that generates some random spots of lacing. The aroma brings the typical roast character along with honey and chocolate. The beer is roasty and sweet, with honey flavor present throughout. Nicely done, as the honey is well integrated into the overall flavor profile. Hints of oak and vanilla are in there as well. The feel is full bodied, with moderately low carbonation. Overall, an interesting and enjoyable brew. I would have this again.

A-- Poured a dark brown and settled black. Just hints of ruby at the tip of the beer. Dark, one finger, mocha brown head. Good lacing with the beer as it left wisps of lacing and spotting lacing while drinking this. Settled down to a solid collar/ film through drinking.
S-- Malt, lots of malt. Chocolate, honey, orange, port, molasses and as it warmed a lot of soy sauce. Got really sweet as it warmed up.
T-- Orange covered chocolate with the above mentioned flavors. As already mentioned it got really sweet and soy sauce like as it warmed up.
M-- Medium bodied and low carbonation. Honey and soy sauce stood out in the body. Got really sticky sweet in the mouth and became a slow drinker.
O-- interesting at first and then got really overbearing. Too much honey and soy sauce. Needed more roast to carry the profile I thought. Interesting for a barrel treatment and kind of cries out for one to save the overpowering sweetness of the beer.

This beer will put some hair on your chest. Pours dark, thick, and black with very little head. Intense aroma of malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste is similar, but even more intense. Feels very thick and heavy, but in a pleasant way.

Wildly intriguing aroma of toffee with a hint of honey and dark black pour leads to a complex but satisfying taste and smooth mouthfeel.

Poured the bomber into my bruery snifter. Tan head with beautiful lacing, this is a nice looking beer. Aroma of sweet coffee and alcohol. Taste follows the nose, a little boozy but nothing crazy. Pretty sweet but not too much. This is a very tasty stout. Pretty good all around beer.
