COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Irish Walker is brewed with six different malts and a blend of four classic hops. A long fermentation and cold aging makes Irish Walker a well rounded and complex Barley Wine. Irish Walker exhibits malty sweetness, fruity esters and malty balance. This ale will age well for years to come, or just enjoy now with good company. Cheers!

Tasted from cool wax-dipped bottle at 2nd STL Ratebeer Gathering, thanks phaleslu. Poured a clear, dark reddish-brown color with off-white foam, long-lasting with excellent Belgian lace. About as beautiful as beer can look. Aromas of bread, caramelized brown sugar, refined hops, smooth alcohol. Rich malt flavor, toffee, brown bread, zesty and bitter hops. Tart bittersweet aftertaste. Delicious.

(bottle - Sampled at STL RB Gathering) deep amber with tan head. Sweet toffee aroma. Flavor of sweet caramel malt, toffee, slightly atringent.

vyvvy (4080) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - FEB 18, 2012
Sampled at STL RB Gathering - Pours tawny brown with a beige head. The aroma has toffee, heavy bread, lots of toast, caramel and somehow there is a char taste without it having a roasty malt taste. Medium / full body that’s a bit rough with lots of minor carbonation. The flavor starts with the aroma notes with spicy/earthy hops and stone fruit. The finish has a lot of spicy hoppiness and a bit of a bite. Good barley wine.

On draught at the brewery. Pours a deep amber into the glass, and has a wispy eggshell head that leaves spotty window soap lace. The nose is of caramel, with definitive floral notes. Caramel, astringent alcohol and thick piney bitters, diacetyl alcohol butter, whiskey, maple syrup and Candi Sugars mingle on the tongue. A nice warm, tingly butter finish ends the pull. And oily palate accompanies this complex barleywine. Nice, and a wonderful end to the flight!

Big thanks to SuperDave for sharing this. I didn’t even know this beer existed. Wow! Pours clear copper with amber core and tan head. The aroma offers up some roasted malts, apricot skins, some cherries, malts and raisins. The taste is a little on the rough side with malts, a bit of roasted malts and then pine hops, raisins, apricots and then pretty bold spicy hop like black licorice heading into the finish. Nice hoppy brew but a bit young and rough right now.

Richmond 16th. Medium to dark brown. Slightly sour molasses aroma. Flavor is raisin and molasses. Not bad, but struck me as maybe being almost a touch oxidized.

Sampled at the the Sweet Sixteen Richmond Gathering. Brought it back from bruisin ales. Raisin, molasses, a little woody oakey, kinda english in nature. Not hot, but has warming. Actually, quite a nice surprise.

22 oz. bottle picked up at Bruisin Ales. Pours a clear caramel brown color with a small beige head. The aroma has an abundance of sweet caramel maltiness and ripe fruits. The flavor has more sweet caramel malt goodness and a nice amount of ripe fruits. The finish has a decent amount of bitterness that adds another layer to this beer. Medium plus body that makes for a nice sipper in the fall months.

22 ounce bottle thanks to Dave. Pours a copper swirl with a white head. The aroma is sweet hops and caramel. A very interesting brew; tastes a bit like a aged IPA- that sounds bad but it isn’t- sweet dry hops, little bite, caramel, not super sweet or hot. Interesting.

22oz bottle shared by SuperDave, thanks
Appearance: Dark ruby with a small beige head and good lacing
Aroma: Sweet caramel and dark fruit
Taste: Caramel and brown sugar
Good. No noted alcohols, surprised to see it’s 10.5%
