Bottle. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma is great raspberriy roasted malty fruity sweet and very fresh. Flavor is stouty roasted sweet fruity a bit boozy astringent and bitter. Nice longlived bitter finish.

Bottle at the ChrisO Snow Tasting, London - many thanks to Bruce! Pours black-brown with a modest, foamy head. Dark chocolate in the nose, notes of raspberry. Medium sweet flavor with lightly tangy burnt wood, char. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with more dark chocolate, light dry and bitter raspberry, some bittersweet cocoa. Burnt toast. Good.

Pours a rich black color with a trace of khaki foam. On the nose its got a nice dose of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate and some berry sweetness peaking through. The palate is well balanced with a sweet molasses, roasted chocolate and just enough traces of bourbon, fresh raspberry and vanilla to really bring it all together. Nice Beer...

Botella. Black colour, beige head. sweet roasty malty chocolate berry fruity aroma. Good mouthfeel. Flavour has a good roasted maltiness with chocolate, dark fruit and rasperries in the finish.

Label put me off, but I’ll put my prejudices to the side. It’s a lovely vanilla aroma - a rich roast with toffee and treacle. So sweet, but pressing just the right hedonism buttons. Desperately sweet, but yummily so. Lots of sweet roasty vapours go up the nose. Treacly hedonism.

Bomber. Smells like a dark chocolate bar with raspberries and a hint of pepper. Black with a touch of red. Tastes like a raspberry choc bar. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz. bottle shared by Jeremy. Pours black in color with a medium sized thick tan head. The aroma has a great combination of roasted malts, dark bread, coffee, dark chocolate, fresh raspberries, caramel, honey with the expected barrel notes. The flavor has all the character of a big imperial stout; roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark caramel, a hint of coffee, and a splash of honey. This is enhanced withe oak, bourbon and a touch of vanilla from the barrel. Everything is topped off by the raspberry fruitiness. I thought everything worked together nicely.

Bottle at ChrisO Snow Tasting, thanks to Bruce. It pours jet black with a medium tan head. The nose roasted malt, raspberry ice-cream, tangy berry, toasted coconut, vanilla and oak. The taste is roasted malt, fresh raspberry, tangy fruit, toast, espresso,, tar, earth and a hint of soy sauce with a bitter-sweet finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff indeed. I prefer this to their regular impy stout.

Bottle a Chriso’s tasting 20/01/2013. Pitch black with a really dark cherry tan head. Sweet caramel treacle aroma with soft berry notes. Alcohol and solvent in there as well. Flavour is mellow roast with plum and raspberry.a little soy. Sweetish finish.
