4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a dark redish brown, nearly black, with a thin brown head that fades quickly. Aroma is raspberry, chocolate, and roast. Flavor is also raspberry, chocolate, a hint of vanilla, fudge, and roast. It tastes like a raspberry cake roll up dipped in chocolate! Low carbonation and a ultra smooth mouth feel. Raspberry in the start and finish has just the slightest touch of coffee. Very dark rich and silky smooth. You can note the alcohol presence but it is not overpowering. Perfect balance. A great beer for desert or really anytime. Excellent.

22oz bottle in a teku. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, raspberries, some oak and bourbon and vanilla, light notes of chocolate and coffee, and light floral notes. Flavor the same with a nice blend of the raspberries and the imperial stout and the oak. Smooth, thicker texture. A really cool beer.

From notes. Tasted on 6/30/12 at the 1st Annual Chimipalooza, from 650mL waxed bomber bottle. Pours dark cola brown with an average tan head that leaves thin lace. The nose is is dark and milk chocolate, malted milk, tons of roast, some vanilla bourbon, and a nice hint of raspberry. The flavor is much more raspberry forward with the sweet bourbon vanilla and malted milk chocolate up front, moving to all of the bitter roast and dark chocolate on the back of the palate. The body is full with light carbonation and a nicely bitter dark chocolate covered raspberry finish.

Bottle… Pours dark brown with shimmers of purple and a mid-sized, frothy, beige head. The nose is a roasty, fruity swirl of chocolate, vanilla, dark and red berries, espresso and subtle dustiness. Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The flavor is chocolaty, fruity, and full of toffee and caramel sweetness with only a trace of berry-like acidity. Finishes fruity and sweet. Rich. Enjoyability is fairly high. Drinkability is low. Bottle courtesy of Elliesbrown!

Bottle @ Natifest / Cincinnati OH --- Opaque black color, rim head, no lace. Tasted is roasted malt with mild vanilla and maybe a little raspberry. Very little bittering in a very warm alcohol finish. Quite strong, a big alcohol presence, consistency of syrup, wouldn’t take much to be enough.
