4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle shared by Jeremy. Pours black in color with a medium sized thick tan head. The aroma has a great combination of roasted malts, dark bread, coffee, dark chocolate, fresh raspberries, caramel, honey with the expected barrel notes. The flavor has all the character of a big imperial stout; roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark caramel, a hint of coffee, and a splash of honey. This is enhanced withe oak, bourbon and a touch of vanilla from the barrel. Everything is topped off by the raspberry fruitiness. I thought everything worked together nicely.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle, pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma brings out loads of raspberries upfront, with light chocolate and roast in back. Flavour is much more roasty than the nose suggests, with roasted malt, raspberries and low-to-medium sweetness. Very fruity and finishing medium roasty. Very nice stuff.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
BOD 11/4/14. Pours black as a starless night. Normal head, lacing and retention for a barrel aged stout.
Nice nose of bourbon over bittersweet chocolate.
Light medium body with a very smooth texture that approaches slick. Light carbonation, which is normal for barrel aging, with just a hint of effervescence in the finish.
The flavor profile is intense, complex and somewhat balanced. Bourbon and alcohol dominate, but do allow the complexity to come forward. It begins with a slightly sweet blend of flavors that slowly separate beneath the bourbon. Tart raspberries lead, then flow into a light honey sweetness that yields to rich chocolate. In the middle, a slight bitterness emerges, that has an astringent alcohol bite, with a touch of roast, vanilla and oak over a rich honey sweetness - here is where honey is most evident. The finish gives that alcohol burn at the back of the throat coupled with a fading taste of bourbon and honey/chocolate sweetness over notes of grain alcohol.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle courtesy of @jbwimer. Thanks man. Pours pitch black and viscous looking with a small creamy dark mocha brown head. Aroma of lots of chocolate, booze, and tart raspberries. Some roast in there, oaky vanilla bourbon notes. Interesting. Flavor is roasty bitter up front, fades into tart raspberries, some chocolate and booze. Pretty hot for 10%. The tart raspberries are a little strange intermingled with the roast here, but I tend to always have this response to fruit in my stouts. Super rich and creamy mouthfeel with low to medium carbonation.
Iíve wanted to try this one for a while, and in terms of quality of the stout here it is top notch. But I think the fruit just makes it a funky experience for me. Fruit/sour/tart just doesnít work for me with roast and chocolate. The bitterness is a bit much for the tart complement, and it makes it tough to put down more than a few ounces. Nevertheless, Iím pushing through. If you love fruited stouts, this is the bees knees. I recognize the quality of the craft here. These just never seem to hit my flavor spots.
