So happy to see plenty of this one on the shelves at my local haunt. Grabbed some and popped a bottle with a friend whilst we played some darts. Now this is the chunkiest beer I have ever poured. A massive amount of yeast sediment floats in this beer. It reminded me of that Orbitz drink from when I was a kid...but I hope these chunks aren’t to be chewed. A cloudy dark honey color with a small white cap of lace. Spotty lace sticks to the glass. Aroma is pretty fresh with lots of citrus - pineapple, grapefruit and starfruit. The body is a bit slick with a slightly oily feel on the finish. Drinks easy enough though. Carbonation level is moderate. Nice hoppy flavor that keeps me sipping as nothing really lingers. It’s not the freshest or juiciest of hops as far as flavor goes, but they impart a nice bitter pop for sure. Mild peppery finish. Sweet and bold, this one is a good one. Nice work, OHB, I much prefer this to it’s milder sibling, Death by Hops.

Bottle on 6/25/15. Pours a slightly hazy light orange with a white head. Nose is creamy, little bit of citrus, peach, alcohol. Taste is resin and creamy, malty. Very creamy. Tastes bourbon barrel aged but I don’t think it is. Vanilla, some grapefruit rind, heat, alcohol. Nice and unexpected.

A big resiny DIPA that does the bourbon barrel aging thing the right way. The vanilla and oak from the barrel aging meld well with the super resiny hop flavors while the burn is kept to a minimum. Nice lightly sweet caramel malt backbone adds some balance. Pours a pretty light amber with a sticky head.

At GABF 2013. Pours cloudy piss yellow, fluffy medium head. Aroma is just like heady topper, huge floral hops, big thick juicy orange and fruity notes. Taste is not quite as nice, hige floral hop bit with some earthy notes, a little harshness on the back end. I could still drink the shit out of this though.

Growler from Peabody’s (Boone, NC). Pours hazy orange with minimal white head. Aroma is grapefruit, orange, resiny/hoppy, somewhat floral. Taste is strong, bitter hop character with some of the citrus notes. Sticky and long bitter aftertaste. Not bad, not amazing.

Bottle @ Bobby’s, shared by Sam. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Orange, caramel, melon rind, and some grapefruit. A light pineapple note, too. Flavor is sweet malt and sugar. Nice fruit character of grapefruit, lemon, and pineapple. Mild bitterness of pine and grass.

651mL thanks to NoSignsOfPain! Full haze golden pour. Nose is fresher jackfruit, papaya, kumquat. Taste is a bit dusty, cheesy. Papery palate.

22 oz. bottle via trade. Thanks again, John! Pours a cloudy but bright orange with a cm of cream-colored head that settles unevenly and leaves some lace streaks. Aroma of orange, grapefruit, pine, pineapple, caramel malts, florals, and a bit of tropical fruit. Flavor of pine, herbs, grapefruit, caramel malts, pineapple, papaya, florals, bubblegum, and a hint of peppery spice. Medium-bodied, with an alternating sweet and bitter mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. I can’t tell if this is generously called complex or less generously ’all over the place.’ Still, I enjoyed it.

22 ounce bottle poured orange, aromas of light citrus, aome pine and bitterness. Flavors followed suit, seemed a little old with a light stale hop flavor at the end.
