2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a dark amber with a small white head. No lacing on my clean glass. Smells metallic and malty. A little bit of corn, sugar and cabbage. Same in the taste with a bit more in the malt. Slight bitterness mixed with a nice sweetness in the palate. Not a bad beer. Just expected a lot more for a lager, especially one with such a low abv.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep red, maybe a tad lighter than something I would call "ruby" but it’s getting there. The beer has a medium head that retains it’s self nicely. Some fruity and bready malt shows up in the aroma along with mild vegetal notes. Generally it smells nice enough but the aroma is pretty reserved all together. The flavor is really very nice, and consequently a mildly roasty fruity lager with some mild snappy hops is pretty much exactly what I’m in the mood for at the moment. I’m glad I decided to open this up. There’s not a whole lot to dig into here, it’s a very clean cery malt forward beer that is really well balanced with a bit of zesty hop bitterness. Very full flavored for a >4% beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle back from bestway in greensboro. Pour is a delicious looking and moniker honoring ruby red color. Nice tan head. A little nuttiness in the aroma along with a candy sugar sweetness. Flavor is smooth, a little creamy, and slightly sweet. The finish has an earthiness to it that is rather nice. Some grassy hops lightly added to finish you off. Nice drink here that could go down way too easy and way too frequently.

2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Tap. Amber red color, light tan head. Aroma of toasted malts and seaweed. Lots of salt water / beach smell in the nose of this beer. Kinda odd, I’ve never experienced a scent like that before. Completely flavorless. I tasted nothing. No sweetness, no malt characteristics. Not much fizz either. I sent it back. Booo.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance: Pours out a translucent, amber-red body with a frothy, ivory-hued head. Slight smatterings of lace on the way down.
Smell: Lightly toasty, bready, sweetish caramel notes, along with some spicy, herbaceous hop hints and an oh-so subtle baked apple fruitiness.
Taste: Toasty, modesty nutty maltiness with nice sweet component of lightly caramelized sugars. Light backdrop of soft fruitiness. Additional dash or two of brown sugar. Minimal hop presence yielding from slight leafy, herbal taste and a mild bitterness. A little bit of the bitterness follows you through to the clean, lightly effervescent finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation. Fairly smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: I enjoyed this one. Keenly drinkable -- it’s got just enough flavor, the right amount of hops to balance, a slender body, and a graciously low ABV. I cleared through the entire bomber in record time, by the time the Pinback song "Grey Machine" had finished, I was done.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 16, 2010 Pours a nice reddish amber with a thin weak wispy head. Aroma is subdued, but flavor shows a fantastic caramel note along with a slight nobel hop metallic twang. Nice burnished bronze color. Capped with a small off white head. Well balanced with a just enough hops to keep it interesting.
