Bottle back from bestway in greensboro. Pour is a delicious looking and moniker honoring ruby red color. Nice tan head. A little nuttiness in the aroma along with a candy sugar sweetness. Flavor is smooth, a little creamy, and slightly sweet. The finish has an earthiness to it that is rather nice. Some grassy hops lightly added to finish you off. Nice drink here that could go down way too easy and way too frequently.

Tap. Amber red color, light tan head. Aroma of toasted malts and seaweed. Lots of salt water / beach smell in the nose of this beer. Kinda odd, I’ve never experienced a scent like that before. Completely flavorless. I tasted nothing. No sweetness, no malt characteristics. Not much fizz either. I sent it back. Booo.

22 ounce bottle from Bestway in Greensboro, NC. Pours a hazy bronze color with a medium tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of nutty caramel malts with a hoppy finish. Taste is caramel, nuts, toasted malts, and light nondescript fruity notes. Medium bodied. Decent beer.

Appearance: Pours out a translucent, amber-red body with a frothy, ivory-hued head. Slight smatterings of lace on the way down. Smell: Lightly toasty, bready, sweetish caramel notes, along with some spicy, herbaceous hop hints and an oh-so subtle baked apple fruitiness. Taste: Toasty, modesty nutty maltiness with nice sweet component of lightly caramelized sugars. Light backdrop of soft fruitiness. Additional dash or two of brown sugar. Minimal hop presence yielding from slight leafy, herbal taste and a mild bitterness. A little bit of the bitterness follows you through to the clean, lightly effervescent finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation. Fairly smooth mouthfeel. Drinkability: I enjoyed this one. Keenly drinkable -- it’s got just enough flavor, the right amount of hops to balance, a slender body, and a graciously low ABV. I cleared through the entire bomber in record time, by the time the Pinback song "Grey Machine" had finished, I was done.

Tap at Olde Hickory. Pours a medium to light amber with a thin head. Aroma is nutty malts, some toffee a bit earthy with some slight cobwebby staleness and crackers- light herbs. Flavor is a bit crisper- light caramel malts, hint of toast and bread with grassy and lightly herbal hops, earthy in the end- decent bitterness and fairly clean. is a bit weak and watery.

On tap at Union Jack’s. Light clear red, thin whitish head. Lightly nutty caramel aroma, some fruitiness, but aroma is faint. Taste is pit fruits, toasty malts, then lots of toasted malt and caramel. Good stuff.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2010 Pours a nice reddish amber with a thin weak wispy head. Aroma is subdued, but flavor shows a fantastic caramel note along with a slight nobel hop metallic twang. Nice burnished bronze color. Capped with a small off white head. Well balanced with a just enough hops to keep it interesting.

Draught. Well, this beer isn’t that much of a ruby color, it’s more like a light amber and slightly see-through. No head formation on this one after less than a minute. The nose is rather mild with sweet, grassy, hay character and something that reminds me of white bread. Very assertive papery hops are in the flavor, reminds me of wood chips. Also I detect apple peels, walnuts, dough, and straight-up malted barley. This is pretty decent for something that is so obviously a lighter lager.
