UPDATED: AUG 16, 2010 Pours a nice reddish amber with a thin weak wispy head. Aroma is subdued, but flavor shows a fantastic caramel note along with a slight nobel hop metallic twang. Nice burnished bronze color. Capped with a small off white head. Well balanced with a just enough hops to keep it interesting.

A decent lager, but nothing spectacular. Light redish color with a slim head. Malty aroma. Kind of interesting malty taste. Nothing really stood out with this beer. Had this on tap at Barley's in Knoxville, TN.

22 oz bomber in May 2012. Pours with a clear reddish-amber body; aggressive carbonation produces a very large, frothy, bone head. The head settles down, but doesn’t die altogether, in short time. Not much lace left behind. Smell: Light malt with a distinct earthy/herbal tone. Not bad, but not very appealing either. Taste: Toasty, modesty nutty maltiness with nice sweet component of lightly caramelized sugars. Light backdrop of soft fruitiness. Additional dash or two of brown sugar. Minimal hop presence yielding from slight leafy, herbal taste and a mild bitterness. A little bit of the bitterness follows you through to the clean, lightly effervescent finish. Medium-light body but without wateriness; Medium-high carbonation. Fairly smooth with a slightly dry finish. O: Highly drinkable -- both because it goes down easy and due to the low ABV. Adequate and unflawed flavor, a good malt/hop balance and a fine mouthfeel.

Aroma is minimal. Pours a nice ruby reddish brown with a minimal head. Taste is minimal also - sweet malt and caramel notes. Medium-light bodied and minimal carbonation. Overall, nothing to write home about. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught. Good flavor just not enough of it. A light version of an amber-like lager. The finish is fairly crisp, and there is a fairly decent hop aroma.

Nice red colored lager with a creamy thick head. Taste is lacking and I really like red lagers.

Bomber. Let me preface this by saying I am not a lager fan. No aroma that I like. Nothing that tweaks my palate. Need t stop trying lagers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

draft pours dark red nice lacing. nice malt aroma with some sweetness. medium hop base. the flavor is mild for it is a red lager. kind of middle of the road. side note they use this beer to marinate and steep their corned beef in. decent enough if you enjoy lagers.

Originally reviewed: 5/9/11. Spent a day in the mountains with my family, and stopped in to MM in Blowing Rock for dinner and got this on-tap. This beer came out in a mason jar which was a nice little "mountain" touch. Was a dark ruby color with a small beige head on top. The nose was sweet with candied malts, floral tones, syrup. Smooth and creamy mouth on this one. Really a mellow gulper. Nice sweet malty backbone with plenty of nutty flavor that I really liked. Caramel and toffee notes noted. This really was a refreshing beer to sip while waiting for my food. I definitely much preferred this on-tap to the bottle form. But this makes me want to revisit it for sure. Another solid offering from OHB.
