Intriguing aroma of vanilla and coffee with a thin black appearance, decent taste but minimal mouthfeel. Drinks more like a porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. The pour is dark. The aroma is a good strong mix of coffee and vanilla. The taste is a little over carbonated. Strong coffee. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle, shared by jmborggren. Dark brown color. Not opaque. Thin bubbly white head. Coffee aroma. Something like lake-water? Not much coffee in the flavor, but it’s a light roast, more vanilla in the flavor. Vanilla flavor is very bean-like, less extract-y tasting. Nice light sweet taste, little bitter. Little loose lace. Smell isn’t too impressive, but aroma in the aftertaste is nice vanilla. Medium-plus body, softer, lighter carbonation. Little watery, little thin in the body. Good vanilla flavor, but a little thin for me, overall

22 oz. bottle shared by jmborggren- thanks again, Jeremy! Pours an amber-brown color with a small beige head. Aroma starts with coffee, then earth, vanilla, toast, and chocolate. Flavor starts with vanilla, then coffee, dry toast, and chocolate. Medium-bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a crisp, dry mouthfeel. Hits the coffee and vanilla notes but doesn’t come together quite like it should. More of a coffee ale than a stout.

on tap at Duckworths (NC) Pour is dark mahogany, a bit light for the style. This lightness carries over to the mouthfeel (too thin), flavor (a bit light, especially in terms of dark malt), and aroma.(again, a bit light in terms of dark malt). Also rather sweet, falling near a sweet stout on this count, On the positive side, the coffee component is more like fresh beans than old grounds, and is in balance with the other flavors and aromas.

Bottle from Justin. Aroma was somewhat promising, given the listed ingredients, but the flavor fell far from my mediocre expectations. Really fizzy and without much vanilla or coffee or any sort of malt backbone for that matter. Not a good beer IMO. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks to MaxwellDeus for the bomber. Aroma ruled by coffee (some slight fruitiness) and vanilla; some chocolate and waffle cone. Appearance is ivory black with sustained tan head. Flavor is mostly coffee and seems somewhat watery and mineral intensive; the finish is abrupt and has some residual vanilla. Palate is light, thin and a bit flat. Just didn’t deliver for me.

22 oz. bottle shared by jmborggren. Pours dark brown in color with a medium sized beige colored head. The aroma has a nice combination of coffee, vanilla, cocoa powder, and chocolate; I’m looking forward to the taste. The flavor has vanilla, chocolate and some roasted malts, but unfortunately this is too thin and watery to pull this off. I would consider this disappointing.
