COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Event Horizon Imperial Stout is an incredibly rich and luxurious beer brewed with ten malts, local honey, and four American hop varietals before and extended aging in oak bourbon barrels. The result is a beer with many layers of complexity. As the name implies, with one sip you will be unable to turn back. This 2010 special release will age well for years to come, or enjoy now in good company. Cheers!

(Bottle) Pours black with a dark brown head. The aroma holds deep roast with dark bread, liquorice and whisper of coffee candy. Also clear notes of honey, oak, dark fruits and dried berries. Quite sticky nose. The flavour is heavily sweet, medium bitter and light acidic with honey, oak, dried fruits, liquorice, coffee candy and more roast. Resinous hops. The mouthfeel is fat, oily, silky and sticky with a light carbonation. Lingering finish. Near full bodied.

4/28/15. 2013 vintage. Poured near black w a deep red head that quickly dissipated. Min carb. Light roasty nose. Rich, complex mouth with hops way back and chocolate and cherries dominating. Still a bit of bourbon booziness. Lots of other flavors going on. Unctuous mouthfeel. Perfect dessert stout ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, Boise imperial stout tasting. Near black in color with a small brown cap. Nose is ripe with vanilla, cocoa, and bourbon barrel. Same in the taste, but huge! Loads of chocolate and vanilla, light bourbon sweetness, and woody. Good roast to balance and overall very smooth and silky, not overly sweet. Delicious. One of my favorites of the night.

650 ml. bottled Dec 16, 2014. Pour is jet with a lasting thin film of espresso cream on top. Aroma is Baby Ruth candy bar (caramel, chocolate, salted and roasted peanuts) and mild touches of raisin, espresso, soy and whiskey. Taste is the same huge mix with some toasted coconut and oak in the long finish. Heavy body is smooth with medium carbonation and an excellent balance in all directions. This awesome dessert beer is slightly sticky but perilously quaffable.

It pours black with a small brown head. It has a rich, sweet coffee and bourbon aromas with a bit of chocolate and nuts. It has a very rich texture with flavors of coffee, a bit of sweet honey, bourbon flavors, and oak. It has a bitter finish on the palate that highlights the oak and bourbon.

Bottle from Joe. Thanks brah. Pitch black pour, small fizzy dark brown head. Huge anise aroma with some coconut, lots of bourbon and woody oak, roast, sweet chocolate, caramel, yum. Flavor follows with lots of bourbon and anise and settles into vanilla and caramel. Roast and chocolate are there, and there’s an extra sweet tang that I assume is from the honey. Surprised how well this stands up to the barrels at only 8.5%. Rich body, medium low carbonation. Even better than expected.
