COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Event Horizon Imperial Stout is an incredibly rich and luxurious beer brewed with ten malts, local honey, and four American hop varietals before and extended aging in oak bourbon barrels. The result is a beer with many layers of complexity. As the name implies, with one sip you will be unable to turn back. This 2010 special release will age well for years to come, or enjoy now in good company. Cheers!

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, some oak and bourbon and vanilla, chocolate, sweetness from the malts, and maybe honey notes, some light hops, and dough. Flavor the same with a very nice blend of everything. Smooth texture. A solid imperial stout.

2013 bottle. Pours midnight black, motor oil-thick, no head at all. Aroma is floral, dark chocolate, boozy, charred wood. In the taste, you get that upfront sugary sweetness from the honey. It’s not overly sweet, but you know it’s there. I liked the honey inclusion here. Barrel notes are subtle and in the background but are present. Thick and chewy stout here. I couldn’t put the glass down!

Bottle sample at Muckfest V on 7/12/14. Pitch black pour with a medium tan head. Bitter dark chocolate nose with licorice, bourbon and molasses notes. Sweet malt and chocolate flavor with some licorice before a boozy bourbon finish.

Bottle thanks to Woodchopper on BA! Dark black pour, thin lacing and an aroma of light peat, chocolate and mellow bourbon. Flavor is also a well done meld of chocolate, peat and sweet bourbon which rounded out the edges on all the flavors. Well done, nothing bad to say about this one.

Got a bottle a few bottles in a trade. It pours a very dark black. A thick dark colored head. A big honey alcohol covered chocolate aroma. All different flavors all flow together at once. Very smooth. Soothing and drinkable.

Thanks to John for sharing! 2013 release. Very great roasted vanilla in the nose. The beer starts sweet, smooth, probably too sweet, nice roasted, fresh, slightly bitter. The mainpart is quite sweet, roasted, molasses. Intense honey, wood. Smooth vanilla-burbon-aroma, very fresh, intense, sweetish, thick.
Great, but probably a bit too sweet! 12/12/12/12

Thanks John!! Pours a super dark brown/black with a rich tan head. The smell is bourbon, molasses, wood. The taste is similar to the nose with some rich fruit, roasted malt with a dry finish. Medium full body with nice carbonation.
